Sheila K. McCullagh had her first work pulished in the 1950s and then went on to write a number of children's books including the Puddle lane and the Buccaneers series.
Very cute little book with two reading levels. On one page there is a more complex story for adults to read aloud, or for children that can read at a higher level. On the opposite page, under an adorable illustration, is one to three words in bold print for beginning readers. Very clever idea!
A very cute, short tale, written in simple English that makes it easier to help in teaching youngsters how to read while also providing a good story at the same time. Quite well done.
