This is a rather dry book but what it does well is explain the structure of Mahler's symphonies, which I think is invaluable for getting a handle on his symphonies.

Very helpful insight into the details of each symphony. Not my favorite, but good.

Si te gusta Mahler y quieres saber más sobre la estructura de su música está muy bien. Si no, no resulta muy entretenido.

If you are as worshipful of Mahler as I, then this detailed discussion of the symphonies is for you. I am a piano player, and understand chord structure. This knowledge will be helpful if you tackle this one. Tom
