Delightful little book, full of a wonderful array of classic designs. The projects all range from Beginner to Intermediate levels of difficulty, with the majority falling in the Easy range. There is a handy crochet basics guide in the back if you need help getting started with crochet for the first time, or just a little refresher. Can't wait to get started making some of these pieces!
I love this book! Vintage patterns are usually what I find at second hand stores and require updating myself. This book uses modern wool, modern terminology and modern colour schemes to update past patterns without doing any of the work myself. I've made several of the patterns enclosed and the instructions are easy to follow and accurate. I would gladly buy a sequel from the same time period.
I loved the history lesson at the front of this book! And who knew Red Heart, the global yarn brand today came from such humble roots?
This was a fun book. I loved how the original vintage leaflets were shown next to the updated photos made by crafters using modern crochet terminology.
I'll probably be on the lookout to buy this book and add it to my collection!
I was looking for a pattern for a zig zag afghan and bought this book from an online store in the hope that it had a good pattern. It did! This book features vintage patterns with a modern twist. Categories include Kitchen, Entertaining tables, Bed & Bath Decor, and Cozy rooms. It is beautifully presented and has easy to follow patterns and projects. If you are new to crochet or experienced you will definitely find something that will have you rummaging through your yarn stash immediately.
Got this for Christmas 2012. There are some really great patterns in here, but the instructions are a bit skimpy if you are a crochet beginner like me. Luckily, youtube tutorials came to my rescue and now I am stitching away.
