With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.
"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."
The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.
Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.
A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.
In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.
When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.
Ehte feel-good literatuur.
I loved this series of books - but then I've never read anything by Sherryl Woods I didn't like. It is a very easy read that transports your mind to another place. The Rose Cottage sure is a wonderful place that gives romance a new meaning!
I didn’t care for this. It made me sad that a h would be so malleable. The H cheats so quickly after she leaves marries pregnant OW then gets blamed for breaking up the marriage. Just no.

Both stories were easy and enjoyable reads. I liked the sibling relationships. The hero of the second story redeemed himself from earlier poor choices that I thought were awful.
Not what I expected. The story is very predictable. This normally doesn't bother me as much, but the characters are very shallow what makes it harder to read.
THE LAWS OF ATTRACTION: This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won't be my last! This is the third book of The Rose Cottage Sisters series which follows the romances of the D'Angelo sisters. In this book, Ashley, the oldest sister and powerful attorney in Boston takes refuge at her grandmother's cottage in Virginia to reevaluate everything after she gets a guilty man acquitted! On her first night in Virginia, she literally crashes into Josh, a laid back gorgeous man, so different from the high powered men she was used to dating, but he has a secret! Will his secret be the end of their chance at a happy future together? A sweet romance that will keep you turning pages just to see what happens next!! I loved it! FOR THE LOVE OF PETE: This is the 4th book in The Rose Cottage Sisters and it revolves around the youngest D'Angelo sister, Jo. After finding her fiancé in bed with another woman, Jo's sisters convince her to take some time to get over it by returning to Rose Cottage. Reluctantly Jo does but is fearful of running into her secret first love, Pete who broke her heart when he got another woman pregnant 7 years ago! When her sister inadvertently hires Pete to do some repairs on the cottage with Jo to supervise, she doesn't know that this is the second chance Pete has been hoping for but felt undeserving of having. I loved every second of Pete and Jo's second chance at true love! Beautiful and deeply moving!!
This book was again 2 more stories each another D'Angelo sisters and their grandmothers enchanted cottage.
Ashley & Josh...
This story may have been my favorite. I just adored Josh, he was just about the sexiest, kindest guy. Ashley out of all the sisters was the rock but also the hard ass. She ran home to Rose Cottage do to a tough court case, it left her questioning her ability to be the best lawyer she can be. Literally running into Josh...with her car into his. It begins a journey of friendship and learning to enjoy the rest of what life has to offer.
Jo & Pete...
Jo runs back to Rose Cottage when her fiancé is caught cheating. For the second time in her life she was disappointed in the man she loved. Little did she know being pushed to return by her bossy sisters would land her right back to her original heartbreak.
The D'Angelo sisters and their men were lovely, sweet and fun easy reads. I loved getting lost in their world in that wonderful cottage. Sherryl Woods contemporary romance books are magical.

Woods has a wonderful way of weaving a story of romance in a small town, ocean side setting. This one has two stories in it. In Laws of Atraction, Ashley escapes to Rose Cottage after defending a client who turns out to really be a murderer. He was aquitted on "not guilty" charges yet clearly he was not "innocent." Ashley had built her reputation on only choosing clients whom she truely thought were innocent, but then she begins to question her judgement after he ends up almost killing another person immediately after he is released. Immersing herself in guilt and self loathing, she then discovers Josh. But Josh has a few secrets of his own, too. Can she trust him? In For the Love of Pete, Jo reluctantly comes to stay at the Rose Cottage after finding out her fiance is sleeping with another woman. However, she then meets Pete, her first love and the last person she wanted to meet because he went off and married another woman. But their meeting develops into more....
Two novels in this one, too. In the first story, Ashley, the oldest of the D'Amgelo daughters, is an independent, headstrong, and very successful lawyer. Her self-esteem is in shambles due to the deception of one of her clients. She heads to Rose Cottage to regroup and think about her future in law. Ashley literally bumps into Josh, another successful attorney from Richmond, Va, shortly after she arrives at Rose Cottage. Josh has also come to the area to contemplate his future in law. The two very different personalities make for a delightful and interesting story--a REAL page turner! The magic of Rose Cottage strikes again in the second novel centering around Jo, the youngest of the D'Angelo girls, and the boy, who is now a man, that she fell in love with seven years in the past. That new-found love isn't without problems, even from an ex-wife. However, now it a mature love and one of trust with a solid foundation.

Again, I enjoyed this book because the writing carries me along to an enjoyable visit with familiar friends in a familiar setting.
This is actually two stories of the oldest and youngest D'Angelo girls. Ashley, the oldest, is a criminal defense lawyer who gets an acquittal for a guilty person. This puts her into a tailspin and sends her to Rose Cottage where she had spent her summers with her grandmother. Naturally she finds love.
The youngest, Jo, finds her fiancee in bed with another woman which sends her to Rose Cottage. She meets her first love who had also betrayed her. He is now divorced with a son and she has to wrestle through her feelings on if she wants him back. Story is well done.
These two stories are just as good as the first two. Now all the sisters are together again. Makes you wonder what will happen with their parents who are still in Boston, while the girls are all in Maryland. Also since the grandmother's cottage is the basis for all the romance, wonder if anyone else using the house will be as successful at finding love as the sisters did.
Both books were quirky and sexy all at the same time. Even though they were the third and fourth book of the series, you didn't really miss a lot of pertinent information. Both Books stood alone, even though you could tell there was a definite flow in time. I would love to get my hands on the first two sisters stories just to finish the series.
Good light reading. You know how it's going to turn out, but written well with lots of dialogue which helps to define the characters. Just a little too predictable.
