A vampire hunter, Izark, one day meets gorgeous and sexy silver-haired Tristan, a vampire. Their sensual, nighttime escapades draw them closer together... but is it a blessing, or a curse?
This has been on my shelf for ages but I'm glad I finally got around to reading it. After reading the description for the story, I had a basic understanding of the overall plot but things were actually more complicated than they seemed. There are also things about both main characters that don't become apparent until the last couple of chapters in the book but that just made it better, in my opinion; I liked the fact that I was continually wondering about the actual truth of the matter. Even though I wouldn't really consider this a HEA, it wasn't really a HFN either; more like somewhere in between, if that makes any sense. Overall I really liked the book and will read it again in the future; I would also happily read a sequel if there was one since I can easily see these characters continuing on in additional books.
3.5 This was my first book by Isaya Takamori so I didn't really have high expectations for this book, the only reason that I bought this is for Chigusa Kawai's illustrations.
Isaac is a college student who works under the Helsing group as a vampire hunter, he seeks the vampire who murdered his family. Isaac meets a vampire named Tristan who asked him to kill his sire named Jado in exchange for the identity of the vampire who killed his family. As they begin looking for Jado the attraction between both men is developped.
It took me a long time to finish this book since the story did not suit me at all and I was bored though out the story, the only reason I read it is that, I wanted to know why the illustrations was like that and such. The is a bit predictable and the ending was a bit of a disappointment.
Issac is a college student/vampire hunter. His goal is to find the vampire who killed his family when he was younger. He ends up meeting a very handsome vampire who has it against his own kind, Tristan. Tristan helps Issac do recon and help take out other vampires. Tristan wants Issac's help to kill his sire, Jado. They both are attracted to each other.
Tristan has a secret, Issac finally finds out about. Issac has to decided if he believes Tristan is telling the whole truth. It really shakes up there relationship. Issac sets out to find out the truth. Will they be able to overcome everything and be together? Will they be able to survive when they finally face off with Jado?
I liked this story and I feel it wraps up very well at the end.
I'm a fan of Kawai-sensei's; so knowing that she had done the illustrations for this novel was what drove me to buy this. I'm not familiar with Takamori-sensei's work, so I didn't know what to expect.
I can now say that I hope to read more of her works in the future. This was a nice read; well written and with great characters. I liked the vampire world she created, the idea of how werewolves and ghouls came about or are created, and the whole vampire society/hierarchy.
The illustrations were gorgeous, adding an extra spark to a story of grief and loss, of revenge and betrayal, but also of redemption and love. Overall a very satisfying read.
