"Grave New Day" begins one week after the previous book ended. Jess is devastated attempting to cope with the loss of her lover, John Brittain. What makes matters worse is John's body has disappeared. Jess holds a funeral anyway in order to get put some finality to everything, however, at the gravesite, a strange man approaches her and tells her John is not dead.

Meanwhile, John wakes up in a strange place that feels like a monastery but he cannot move nor can he remember anything other than his

I received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

This one left me with many questions and no answers. But so far I'm enjoying this series.

Well, I hadn’t read book one, enjoyed book two, though with some reservations and was keen to get to this one. Sadly for me there’s one major flaw that makes it a three star. Its well written as was book two, full of great characters and fun plots but – and its a huge issue for me – I hate when characters get some unheard of mysterious new powers right a

Initially I was enjoying this third book but the story went from somewhat believable to so far fetched that I could not get invested and then, for me it just went to ridiculous and totally unbelievable. I felt that the story line was weak and the principals, especially Jess, were so unlike the people I felt I had come to know. For those reasons I rated the book at 3. So very disappointed. Feeling almost reluctant to start book 4.

Grave New Day is book 3 in the vampire hunter series. You do not have to read any of the others to read this, you would be able to start right in. The main character is a female vampire that hunts vampires. She had a great partner but he is now missing. I don't want to write more on that do to spoilers. She has a bounty on her head from other vampires and there is plenty of action. She meets a strange man with incredible abilities. Once she finds her partner, he has strange powers. Together they ...more

Great addition to the series. The plot twists from book two that kept me on the edge are ironed out, but of course that means that there in room for new ones.

Grave New Day picks up where Beyond the Grave ended. Jess and Britt are still the central characters in the series third book.

I finally feel as though Britt is a full equal to Jess. In books one and two it bothered me how much Jess never quite looked at Britt as though he was good enough. In this story he blows past the annoying differenc

John Brittain is dead. The grief spilling from the first pages of this book is palpable… at least for me. I’m a sucker for those sad male protagonists that are killed off and then resurrected.

Jess has half a soul which her brother, Father Vandermire, helped save. Her soul becomes endangered when she loses her focus after John was killed. Then John comes back to life to be with Jess and they have to figure out how to fight Old World

I received Grave New Day as an ARC (advance reader's copy) book from NetGalley. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. Much better continuation of the story. There are still a few "convenient" fixes for problems, and the ending wrapped up too neatly after a huge build-up, but with the exception of a few holes, this one was good. I'll admit, I'm still puzzled why the series is named after Jess when Britt seems to be the stronger character and seems more ...more

It wasn't as good as the other books. It's like the author didn't write it or didn't edit it or something. Her writing style reflects putting a book together in a hurry. It ended in a cliffhanger again, which I don't mind, but I hope Lina writes the book or takes the time she did with her other books.

Jess and Britt are wonderful in this book just like all the others. I really had no idea where Lina was going in this book and enjoyed the way she unwound the mystery.
