What does the Bible say about taking care of the Earth? What is the Christian view on climate change? What can you do to make a difference? Connecting science, Scripture, and personal stories, author Rebekah Simon-Peter explores these questions. In this thought-provoking exploration, Green Church's use of Scripture and Science reminds us of our responsibility to creation and, even more importantly, that we are truly an integral part of creation. Building upon the traditional conservation concepts of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Green Church adds the Scriptural elements of Repentance, Reclamation, and finally, Rejoicing in God's world.
Helpful sidebars including, Things to Think About, Spotlight on Science, Green Facts, and Greening the Church, share both fascinating facts and ways that each of us can truly make a difference in creation today.
Presents a theology of love for creation and responsibility and gift humans have to be co-creators in God's universe. Nt scare tactics but change inspire by love to change our behaviors to save our planet.
Don't let the size of this book fool you... it's slim on pages but packed full of wisdom. Would love to use this for small-group study, particularly in my church, where recycle was emphasized but, like many things, has fallen by the wayside as our folks center themselves outside our church. A LOT to think about, particularly when presented so eloquently.
