A new contribution to the growing body of historical research on the outlaw couple, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, whose story has taken on near-mythical status but often has been told with little regard for the facts. Bonnie and Clyde: A Twenty-First Century update includes eyewitness accounts not seen elsewhere.
Author James R. Knight does a fantastic job taking us into the two year rampage across the Midwest and Mid South involving Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker. This young and in love couple terrorized the nation in the deepest depths of the 1930’s depression stopping at nothing to stay alive. Through luck, Clyde’s driving and firepower they managed to survive 2 years of gun battles and wrecked cars finally seeing their killing and mayhem come to a violent end. If 1930’s gangster stories are of personal interest this book is for you.
Very good book providing a good overview and perspective. What I really liked about this book, is the way the author presented the facts. The events were well researched and the facts presented. Highly recommend to get a good overall perspective of Bonnie and Clyde history.
This book scrupulously documents the lives of Bonnie and Clyde and their criminal careers, demythologizing and correcting much of what was previously printed.
