Protected Love

Bodyguard romance and fake-dating mixed in one🫶🏻
Gavin being a possessive bodyguard over Minnie? And he’s a grump? But he’s “i hate everyone but you”? Count me in.
⚠️I loved the whole aspect of Gavin not being able to sleep unless he hears Dreamcatcher singing. It just added a whole new level of ✨shes meant for me✨
Oh, there’s something else that needs to be said. The moms in this book were awesome. (I mean the two that count)⚠️

✔ Let me introduce you to Gavin, my book husband Lukas's friend. Now Gavin was an absolute treat.
✔ Mouse was absolute heart. I loved her character growth. Loved her when she was timid and loved her when she was sassy.
✔ Their banter and Mouse's pet names for Gavin were downright hilarious. (i snort laughed)
✔ Mouse with Viola and Meryl aparts were absolutely awwww worthy.
✔ Gavin's bond with Carter and Mere were cute and hilarious.
✔ Loved it all -the storyline, the angst, the edginess, the bonds and ultimately the steamlious spice.
🤔What could have been better -
✔ Uhhh i will say again, i wish i had all the books in the series with me.
✔ I really couldn't picture the man on the cover as Gavin. So ya that could have been different.

I absolutely loved this story! I was entranced from the very beginning!
Gavin and Minnie’s chemistry jumped off the page the moment they met! Their relationship was so fun and cute! I loved their banter, and how they constantly teased each other! That beach scene was probably one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever read!
Protected Love is a perfect example of why I love small town romance! Characters from Vikki’s previous stories in the Kings World (which you don’t need to read from the beginning, but if you must, you should start with Second True Love), and some characters that just exist in that world, show up as they not only try and help Gavin and Minnie figure out the stalker, but also help them get out of their own head and realize what’s in front of them!
I particularly loved Gavin’s relationship with his brother, Connor, and his nephew Carter! Carter reminded me a lot of Cooper Miles (from Claire Kingsley’s Miles Family series) and/or Colton Westbrook (from Avery Maxwell’s Westbrooks series.) I was hoping he’d get a story, in addition to his uncle, and was pleasantly surprised to find that Carter is the next hero to get his story.in The Kings World, and I am so looking forward to reading it later this year!

I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of grumpy Gavin for a while no and Vikki didn’t disappoint from the minute he meets Minnie there’s a connection and they have chemistry that jumps off the page. Gavin is also super protective of Minnie from day one and gives of major alpha male vibes. These two beautiful souls share a connection that they are unaware of at first which is something they need to work through when it all comes out. Honestly at times I wanted to bash their heads together as Gavin is a stubborn ass and Minnie is blind to what is right in front of her, that said I did love them both though they seem to bring the best out the best in each other. I was really happy that they found each other and that they got their much deserved HEA.
I liked getting to see some familiar faces too and I loved the banter that Carter and Connor bring. I’m now excited for Carters book

Gavin and Minnie’s story is an emotional one for a lot of reasons. Both Minnie and Gavin have their struggles and fears but together they found each other and how perfect they are for one another. What started out as Gavin providing security for Minnie from her stalker turned into an easy camaraderie laced with attraction and desire. When the eminent danger threatens to unravel their carefully constructed bubble and the arms length they were holding each other at collapses, Gavin finds himself putting everything on the line for Minnie wanting nothing but the best for her even if that doesn’t include him.
Minnie and Gavin had alot of personal growth throughout the story and really relied on each other for encouraging support. Gavin is gruff and cold with everyone but Minnie; for her he is soft and caring going out of his way to make her smile with the little things. Since this is part of the Kings Security world we got to see Keith, Clementine and Merida in addition to Autumn and Lukas. I’m really excited for the next book in the series about Carter (Gavin’s nephew) and Merida.

Protected Love by Vikki Jay is the continuation in The Kings Security family and once again, Vikki Jay did not disappoint. I have yet to read a book by Vikki Jay that I didn't like.
Gavin and Minnie's story is light, easy, romantic, and meaningful. It's the kind of romance that make you feel like you're falling in love for the first time. She's incorporated a storyline that touches your heart and soul. It's a relatable story that many can identify with. It's a story of misfortune, self blame, overcoming struggles that have paralyzed them from their past and learning to let go of their doubts and fears.
Gavin portrays a confident, strong, protective alpha on the outside but carries his insecurities deep within. Minnie is seen as a mousy, fragile, passive female who doesn't realize the strength and courage within herself. They are Ying and Yang but fit in just right together.
This story is a slow burn with an interesting revelation in the end. Truly enjoyed it.

Love this series so much and I loved everything throughout this book!!! This author has quickly become a favorite and I get so swept up in the worlds that are created!
Minnie has gone through so much craziness!! Emotionally and physically being torn up and she’s been trying to put herself back together! I love her strength and growth plus her interaction with Meryl (Gavin’s mom) is one of the best I’ve read!
Gavin is quickly the possessive guy who doesn’t seem to want to keep her but can’t help himself to be swept up in her! I knew something else was brewing and my heart broke so hard for him and everything that happened that day!!
So much pain throughout this book but there is also a lot of healing and love. I loved the glimpse into what looks like another book and I just can’t wait for more!!! I loved Carters banter with his uncle and can’t wait for more!!

We meet Minnie and Gavin in Promised Love. This book is an emotional rollercoaster. I love the grumpy/sunshine and bodyguard trope and this just hit the spot. They way we learn more about King Security and it we got hits of what is to come. I can't wait for the the next book.

What an amazing rollercoaster of a story this book was!! This bodyguard and rockstar, fake dating steamy romance was one that I could not put down and will be thinking about for a while! I loved where the main characters started together, pretty weary of each other but both for different reasons. It was a slow but beautiful journey seeing their relationship develop. Minnie, the quiet creative girl who made every decision because she just wanted to be loved and Gavin, the grumpy bodyguard who cut himself off from the world because he didn’t think he was worthy of love. Even with a ten-year age difference, these characters compatibility and chemistry was undeniable!
The story was so well-written and I really enjoyed the ups and downs of it. There were plenty of hardships, obstacles, and drama that made sure the reader stays interested, instead of being bombarded with fluff. Now, the fluff that was included very much delivered, Gavin showing himself to be more sensitive than perceived and Minnie giving all the love she thinks he deserves. Don’t even get me started on how he can only sleep when she sings for him, SWOOON. Like come on, these fictional boyfriends are ruining standards.
Meryl was such an amazingly sweet surprise and such a funny character who inspires Minnie to face her fears. She made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion and her/her husband’s story is so adorable. I loved towards the end of the book when all of the characters came together for one purpose, it was so heartwarming.
I will say that the main plot twist was just a little predictable when it did get revealed, and almost as if it was trying to be too tragic and throw a lot in the scene. But one small nitpick like that doesn’t outweigh the rest of this amazing and well-written story.
This book was surprisingly sweet, had just the right amount of drama and tragedy, and of course we can’t for get the spice!! If you like romance books with a grumpy man who’s only got a soft spot for his girl, then you can’t pass up this one.

Having read the previous installments in this series I was so glad there'd be more! As soon as this third book was announced I've been looking forward to it. I picked it up and got right back into The Kings World! I so enjoyed this story!
Minnie and Gavin's journey pulled me in quickly! Minnie is talented singer and is anonymous to the world. Gavin is a bodyguard that struggles to find rest. Gavin is assigned to be Minnie's bodyguard after a stalker enters her life. As circumstances bring these two closer together, can they handle the danger lurking and what they feel for one another?
I felt for Minnie as well as Gavin. I really liked the whole bodyguard aspect of it all and seeing these two brought closer together. I didn't know how they'd tackle the danger, everything in their lives, and what's in their hearts which pulled me even more into their story. It isn't easy for these two and I so appreciated the realness.
I realted to both Gavin and Minnie throughout. I loved Gavin's determination to keep Minnie safe and getting to see Minnie tackle things. Finding someone who gets all of you is special and seeing it play out for these two was wonderful for me. Their chemistry was so good and oh did they ever have me feeling so much!
Sometimes a person walks into your life for a reason and Minnie and Gavin's journey sure showed that!
I was so glad to be reunited with The Kings World Crew and what everyone brought to the story!

I totally fell in love with Gavin and Minnie. Both have traumas that they are dealing with and then to add a stalker in the mix, just add more fuel to the fire.

What a fun couple. Gavin is the growly protector while Minnie is the beautiful songbird who feels unworthy. From their first meeting they have a natural spark and Minnie doesn’t hesitate to push Gavin’s buttons. When a fan of Minnie’s continues to taunt her, Gavin becomes her full-time security which has them spending several weeks alone at a safe house. As they get to know each other, Minnie opens up to Gavin about her fears which he works to help her conquer. But as Gavin falls for Minnie, he is carrying some baggage that makes him feel unworthy of her love. As they work to unravel the mystery of Minnie’s stalker fan, will they allow themselves to embrace love? I also enjoyed that we get to interact with Minnie and Gavin’s families along the way which shows the true community that they have supporting them. This let’s me revisit past characters and learn more about their lives and how they interconnect with everyone else. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed and loved Minnie and Gavin’s story. It was a slow burn but filled with tension, chemistry and suspense so you wouldn't even feel it. But dang, once Gavin got entrapped by a human called Minnie, he became even more protective and possessive that he couldn't take his eyes off her. But both of them have their own baggage so they have to work on it before they can really be together. I loved how his family accepts her into the fold, I loved watching them together. Not just Gavin and Minnie together, but the whole family. It's really a heartwarming, sweet and sexy story.

This series keeps getting better
Omg Vikki really knows how to write. I love this book since the first chapter. This story is really amazing with all the twist and turns. I love how the characters are and how they are with each other. Gavin is the perfect bodyguard ever! You are definitely going to swoon with him, for him and thanks to him. And Minnie, Minnie is amazing, she is so much more lovable than she thinks she is. I love how Minnie is his personal dreamcatcher and how Gavin finally lets his walls down for her. They are like the beauty and the beast, he’s grumpy with everyone but her and she is his light and purpose. These Kings men are so possessive and protective. I love Meryl and James so much, definitely marriage goals. Can’t wait to read Connor and Carter’s stories.

I love how the characters are and how they are with each other. Gavin is the perfect bodyguard ever! You are definitely going to swoon with him, for him and thanks to him. And Minnie, Minnie is amazing, she is so much more lovable than she thinks she is. I love how Minnie is his personal dreamcatcher and how Gavin finally lets his walls down for her. They are like the beauty and the beast, he’s grumpy with everyone but her and she is his light and purpose. These Kings men are so possessive and protective. I love Meryl and James so much, definitely marriage goals. Can’t wait to read Connor and Carter’s stories.

This book is so good. I couldn't put it down. Gavin and Minnie are going to steal your heart. Both Minnie and Gavin are both battling some inner demons. Gavin had no idea working the assignment of protecting Minnie would change his life forever. Gavin is one grumpy dude, but Minnie brings out the smiles and the playful side of Gavin that's been missing. Minnie real grows in this one and finds her true self which is so beautiful She has such a kind heart that I was rooting for her the whole way. I loved Gavin's parents so much. I love Meryl's zest for life. Can learn some words of wisdom from her and the love between her and her husband. The nasty piece of work stalking Minnie always casts a shadow over everything. This book has the perfect balance of fun and feels, but also the tense keep you on the edge of your seat moments. Gavin and Minnie also bring the heat. There is no way Gavin would be anything, but dominate in the bedroom. This book had me hooked from the first page to the last. One I'm sad to see end. I love the ending for these two they so deserved it!

This is a Bodyguard, Opposites Attract, Rockstar, Small Town, Age gap Romance. I love all these tropes, and with Vikki Jays Writing style, I devoured this book! The Bond between Gavin, Carter and Mere was cute and hilarious. I loved all the spice and angst. I loved the chemistry between Gavin and Mickey. I can’t wait for her next book.

My first read by Vikki Jay and if this book is anything to go by, Protected Love won’t be the last. Although it’s the third book in the Kings World Series I feel it can easily be read as a standalone without giving away spoilers for the previous books. In a semi-emotional tale involving a mysterious singer, a stalker and a broody bodyguard, I fell in love with Gavin and Minnie’s story. They were wonderful characters with some great dialogue and just the right amount of spice between them. After moving her into a safe house with him, Gavin just couldn’t help himself falling for Minnie or mouse as he affectionately called her even though he fought it all the way. Minnie was an intriguing character, a world famous singer who had a death grip on her anonymity and was only really comfortable with her family even though she still held back from them. Being with Gavin forced her to look at her life and find the courage to confront her fears head on. With all the twists, turns and threats from an escalating stalker and a fabulous cast of secondary characters and while I would’ve liked a little more to the conclusion with the stalker, this was a great introduction to Vikki Jay’s books and now I’m hoping there’s a book featuring Gavin’s mum and dad, now that’s a true love story and if there isn’t one there should be!

This is my first book from The Kings World series, and it can definitely be read as a standalone with no problems. Gavin King is the definition of an overprotective, broody MMC, and it's a good thing too since he's been hired as Minnie's temporary bodyguard. Minnie has been struggling with her identity as a product of her famous dad's affair and has been dealing with a stalker that leaves her notes and sends her text messages that are getting closer to home. What quickly turns into a longer-term assignment for Gavin has the two spending a lot of time together in close proximity. They have a difficult road ahead with a lot of obstacles and a lot of healing that is required before either of these two are ready for a serious romantic relationship. I like the drama and suspense in this story as it keeps you on the edge of your seat. The side characters are a lot of fun. Gavin and Minnie both have friends and family that are deeply involved in their lives (his mom is the best!!). I will be going back to read some of their stories as well and keeping up with the rest of the series. Carter's story is sure to be a good one!!

I love Vikki Jay’s books and this one is no different! This book takes place during the same time line as Promised Love (Lukas and Autumn) so you aren’t missing anything by reading this one as a stand-alone and not in order. Gavin is broody and cold hearted in so many ways but as we had seen in Lukas’ book, he was zoned in on Minnie from the moment he saw her. Minnie had many secrets she’s keeping from the public which has put her at a huge security risk, cue Gavin. Minnie is naive in a lot of way while she hides beneath her trauma but really blossoms during her time with Gavin. Even this whole security risk that has them running around the world, doesn’t stop Minnie from becoming who she is meant to be. And while the ‘will they/won’t they’ pull is HUGE, we know their HEA was always in the cards for them. This is just another excellent book in this series and well worth the read!

I absolutely loved Gavin. He's so grumpy that he's lovable. Sometimes I wanted to smack him but eventually he got it together.
Oh my gosh I couldn't believe what Minnie went through! She was so strong and was willing to do whatever she needed to do.
I loved everything about this story and I can't wait to see what story is up next.

This is the first book I read by the author and it will definitely not be the last. I was lost in the read from the first page and was eager to unravel the mystery. Gavin and Minnie are most adorable. It was too easy to fall in love with them. I love the bond that they share. They don't just have to fight the mysterious stalker but also there inner struggles. I was at the edge throughout the read anticipating what's to come next. I was emotionally connected to the characters and was rooting for them. Vikki has left me mesmerized with this amazing story about two beautiful souls. Cannot wait for the next book. Thanks to Vikki and Grey's Promotion for the advanced copy of this spellbounding book.

This is a great bodyguard romance with loveable characters and a strong plot. Vikki Jay never lets me down with her romance and steam.
Gavin was a perfect protective hero who would do anything to protect Minnie and he fell quickly for her and I loved that. I adored his grumpiness and his reactions at times to her especially when she is singing and he couldn’t do anything but fall hard for Minnie.
Minnie, a quiet and shy woman whose work increasingly is forcing her to put herself out there. She is sensitive and caring and I loved her.
I thought their banter and their connection was superb and for me this is a bodyguard romance done to perfection.
The romantic suspense added to the tension between Gavin and Minnie and this book was just so easy to get into and it didn’t take me long to finish it. That for me is exactly what I am looking for.
I’ve read all of Vikki Jay’s books and I have loved them all and this one is no exception. I can’t wait to see if there is another couples romance in her Kings World Series.

Gavin and Minnie were also such a wholesome couple; despite being such opposites, they were still able to balance one another.
But because it was only mentioned at the beginning and never had a purpose, I never understood the full point of why they even began fake dating. In the end, I found that a lot of the stuff was unnecessary, so I skipped through a lot of it.
Gavin and Minnie made for such a good-looking and wholesome couple overall, but the book's length was excessive.

Another fabulous read from Vikki Jay. Protected Love had a great storyline, was beautifully written and characters that you wanted to hug. I’ve read the earlier books in the series which made this an even better read as I had already met the characters but you could read as a standalone.
Gavin an Minnie’s story is a bodyguard, fake relationship romance. They meet when Gavin is contracted to look after her at her brother’s wedding but action of her stalker has him become her 24/7 care.
This is a slow burn from the very start, and nothing is fake for long. Both have experienced trauma and deal with it differently but together they bring each other some peace.

As a fan of the movie ‘The Bodyguard’, I already loved the idea of this book when I first read the book description. A singer and her bodyguard? Swoon. And luckily for me this book pulled me in right from the start. I loved getting to know both Minnie and Gavin. Minnie has this sweetness over her, and I felt so bad for everything that she was going through. From the moment she meets Gavin, she feels attracted to him. But she is sure a guy like Gavin would never look at her. I loved how ‘clumsy’ she was with him. It made me laugh several times, because I would totally be the same.
But my favorite character was definitely Gavin. At first we only get to see this grumpy, serious guy who is definitely not the social type. Soon we learn that there is much more to him. And he is absolutely enchanted by Minnie. I loved how fiercely he wanted to protected her.
The romance between Minnie and Gavin was fun and exciting. Their chemistry was definitely flying of the pages, and I just adored them. There where also some mild suspense moments, which kept me entertained.
At times, especially near the end I felt like the pace of the story got a bit slow, but nevertheless I loved this story. The setting was really fun, and I definitely am curious about the other books in this series.

They both help each other to overcome their struggles, they make each other complete.

Enjoyed reading Minnie & Gavin's story in this series.
I had smiles on my faces reading other people from other books in this series.
Minnie had me wanting to hug her so bad, and Gavin gave me all the feels with his broody attitude.
I loved the story and the emotions on all the pages.
