Sir Charles: The Wit and Wisdom of Charles Barkley
He's the 1995 NBA Most Valuable Player, a nine-time NBA All Star, and an Olympic gold medal winner. He's the most popular player in basketball, and he may be the most quotable figure in sports history.
Funny, irreverent, and ultimately insightful, Charles Barkley tells it like it is in "Barkleyland," the territory the New York Times identifies as "somewhere between siege and war." You may not want to live there, but with Sir Charles as your guide, it really is a great place to visit.
Sir Charles is the first-ever complete collection of the solicited and unsolicited pronouncements of the undisputed King of Quotes. Read what Charles has to say who is better - Charles Barkley or Michael Jordan; Godzilla and Japan; the quality of Larry Bird's defensive skills; bald people with beards; the fans around the NBA; and the future of the NBA.
Plus, see what the players, GMs, coaches, TV personalities, and sportswriters have to say about him.
Whether insightful or incendiary, Charles Barkley's words fill the sports pages of every city in the nation. And whether you like what you hear or not, you can bet on one thing - you're going to hear it.

Charles Barkley was a great basketball player and is a great commentator. He is who he is and if you don't like it, he's just fine with that. Reading these quotes was entertaining and in many ways enlightening. I was a fan of Sir Charles then and I still am now.

A very short book, not much longer than some magazine articles.
But it's filled with with, and wisdom.

I've always been a big fan of Charles Barkley. I haven't always agreed with what he has to say but I respect him for having the courage for saying what he believes & he is willing to pay the price for his conviction. This was a wonderful collection of Barkley's quips. I commend Rick Reilly for collecting them & cataloging them for readers.

He has the same problem with Arizona drivers that I do. The left lane is not for the speed limit!!! That's what the right lane is for! If you can't go the speed limit, don't get on the freaking freeway!
Very funny, great compilation of quotes, and love the intro by Rick Reilly.

Rick Reilly is better at print journalism than audio, in my opinion, because he comes off sounding like a jerk in this interview. Sir Charles, on the other hand, is revealed to be a smart, thoughtful and authentic gentleman --- oh yeah, and a fierce competitor. .

Hilarious, arrogant, and boisterous: that's Charles Barkley in a nutshell. This book contains witty quotations from the former-NBA player and sports analyst also known as Sir Charles. It's certainly an enjoyable read for sports enthusiasts and fans of Barkley.

A quick read (or listen) that has a bit too much fluff otherwise I would have rated this a five star book. Charles is open, personable, funny, and has a good idea of who he is and how he is perceived. This was like two friends sitting at a restaurant talking about Charles Barkley.

Hilarious quotes from Charles' interviews as a pro basketball player.

'Sir Charles' at his best - lots of blunt opinions and many truths that people are too timid to talk about. Funny.
