To clarify - I do not think I'm all that funny. Reading this 'cause it was written by a kid that went to my elementary, middle, and high school! Not college, cause that kid went to Harvard.

To start off, this book is a guide, explanation, and written appreciation of improv. It included many helpful tips and tricks on running your own improv troupe. I really appreciated the in depth answers that often times answered the questions that came up in my head while reading. I also loved the way the writers incorporated inside jokes that would resonate within their improv group, because even while not being part of their group, it felt like I was being invited to have fun with them and also it showed how important building an identity is for an improv group. I also appreciated the games that the writers gave for others to try, i’ve incorporated a few in my troupes practices and we seem to like them a lot. The writers of this book clearly enjoyed improv and i’m glad they wrote this book to pass on their knowledge of all things Improv.

Great book for beginners, which includes not only foundational improv basics, but also useful tips on starting a group and running a show. It is also whimsically written with funny anecdotes and asides.

Great introduction to improv. Includes games and exercises to hone your skills. Every hotel should have one of these in the nightstand.
