Amazing patterns! I loved the vintage feel of some of the patterns, and the instructions are clear as well. Although some more photographic instructions wouldn't have hurt!😅
The book is quite detailed, which I loved, because I like to get to the mechanics of how things are working up. I recently came to know about bead crochet and was fascinated by it. There are so many sections of crochet -- feels like you can never finish one and get to another! As of now, as quite a beginner, I have explored only the basics of it, yet I wanted to read this book, and understood most of the patterns except some things. Of course, the patterns being gorgeous kept up the interest🤍.
The pillbox hat looked like one of the most complex patterns to me. I definitely would have preferred more images there, especially that of the assembly. And also more explanations, like why are we putting the outer template over the inner one. Apart from that, I loved the decorative brooch but since it's not written how to make it, I was quite disappointed -- it's too lovely to not make!!! 💔😮💨
The gusseted patterns went over my head as of now (things like where to actually join etc), but I am determined to give it more reading and yeah let's see if we can figure it out!
The Miss Jennie bag screams 1880s like nothing else! (well, at least to me!) And once again, I loved the button closure (I think that's what it is?) with the crystals like it's shown in the picture, but there is no pattern given to make that and am not confident to freehand right now. So. Bummer.🥲
Anyway. The much simpler patterns have already been added to my mental queue, and I can't wait to see how it all comes together. Hopefully soon♡
