It's the most outrageous crime in the history of the Galactic Alliance: the theft of the starship Sabre from a maximum-security space station. And even more shocking is the identity of the thieves: the StarHawks themselves.Kelly and his crew have turned to mutiny to rescue a teammate left behind on the pirate planet Methanus. Their goal: to elude a galactic dragnet, invade an impenetrable fortress, and free Operative 41 from the chains of a mercenary king with an army of cyborg killers.
Operative 41 is in grave danger, having put himself back in the hands of the mercenaries of Harva Opie in order to save Commander Kelly. The Star Hawks must break free of official restraints and get back to 41 before he is turned into a cyborg. They don't have much time. They're not really ready..., but they don't abandon one of their own, no matter what the cost.
Chaos again! An ill-conceived adventure. The team is divided when they don't even have enough strength together. It would take Bujold's Miles Vorkosigan to get them out of this mess. Kelly must have done his best, however, because the Star Hawks survived for one more foray into danger.
A great series. Truly a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The complete series contains plenty of action, excitement, and terrific characters you'll be chearing for all the way through to the nail biting end.
