What's a straight man to do when he can't stop fantasising about dominating his gay best friend? Should he resist temptation or simply give in and enjoy?Carlton's not gay. He knows that, because he's checked. Internet gay porn does nothing for him. Checking out guys who he's pretty sure any genuinely gay man would find hot as hell doesn't even raise a flicker of interest inside him. He wouldn't mind being gay, but all the available evidence says he's as straight as they come. So why the hell can't he stop imagining himself tying up his gay best friend?Carlton knows Bryce better than he's ever known any other man. He's all hard edges and even harder attitude, all sarcastic quips and uncertain temper. He might be gay, but he's not the kind of guy who'd let another man push him around. He's not the sort of man who'd humour someone who can't even decide which way he swings either. And he's sure as hell not the type to submit to anyone. Or is he?Carlton's got lots of questions. It's time for him to find some answers…Reader The stories in this collection are linked solely by theme. Each story can be read on its own and the stories can be read in any order.
Kim is a thirty-three year old bisexual submissive from Wales (UK). First published in 2008, she has since released almost 100 BDSM erotic romance titles ranging from short stories to full length novels. Having worked with a host of fantastic e-publishers, she has just moved into self publishing.
While she has occasionally ventured towards other pairings, Kim's first love is still, and probably always will be, Male/Male stories. But, no matter what the pairing, from paranormal to contemporary, and from the sweet to the intense, everything she writes will always feature three things - Kink, Love and a Happy Ending.
As always this series is just too short for Kim's brilliance with her characters. We go through an interesting scene with the boys but the next step(s) would be equally (maybe more?) fascinating!
Not that I didn't appreciate the novelty of a dom who likes to bottom, but the execution of the ideas in this story just didn't work for me. The characters didn't work for me. The GFY you didn't work for me. And the rather reluctant HFN really didn't work for me.
This is another great addition to the G-A-Y series. Focusing on a dominant who isn't out of the closet and a sub who knows exactly what he wants, it provided some very funny moments as the two men realize they may be more than best friends after all.
Not that those words ever get spoken. Carlton is too busy figuring out what it means to be a Dom and how he should behave. Bryce is too focused on making sure Carlton earns every millimetre of submission Bryce grudgingly gives him.
I loved reading this story and would love it even more if there was a sequel. Carlton and Bryce have so far to go and their relationship is so unusual (with a somewhat hesitant but determined Dom and a very self-confident sub), that there must be tons of material to write a sequel.
So far I've read every book in the series and loved many of them. This is the first that I didn't really like. It's still a good story, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the others.
Bryce seemed a bit too dominant and bratty for my tastes. I get he's not a type of sub that fetches things for his master, but still. His attitude annoyed me a bit. Especially because him and Carlton were supposed to be best friends and Carlton was brand-new to all of it (BDSM, being with a man). I just thought being a bit more chill and understanding would have been more appealing. But he refused to answer questions, he made little sarcastic comments...
Stuff like: "Blindfolds exist for a reason. If you've got a problem with me looking at you, do something about it." (Bryce after Carlton caught him checking him out).
In my mind it comes out bitchy. Also in this series, I've never heard a sub talk to their master/dom that way.
(Also, seemed there was no stretching or prep on Carlton's part before taking Bryce's dick. And it was his first time too. Seems like something that should have occurred -- the prep.)
I don't know. It didn't have the same tone and sweet moments the other books did. I like that it was different though and that this series has variety.
Yet again, the only bad part of this story is that it's short :) The two men are very vividly portrayed and I totally fell for them. The Dom is not a know it all and isn't very confident at all. He's the one that is strugling to find his sexuality and to understand bdsm, not the Sub (as in most stories like this). The Sub also has a LOT of self respect and doesn't allow to be pushed around (except phisically, during a scene). I loved the sex scene, too, for being unexpected and breaking the usual pattern established by the majority of bdsm stories.
This is a nice and kinky GFY story about two best friends. The gay friend is submissive and when the straight friend finds out about that he makes a pass at his friend. But he’s drunk and that doesn’t work for his gay friend, submissive or not. But luckily they get a second chance and it turns out they match perfectly. Enjoyable read that I would rate somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.
Short M/M bdsm story from Kim's G-A-Y series. I really enjoyed the story and I love how the stories are short enough that I can read in one sitting.
I really like how Carlton finally decided to make a move on his best friend to see what would happen. There were funny parts, definitely sexy as hell parts, and a little sweetness at the end. Perfect combo for me :)
A mix between Not My Kink and Not What I Was Expecting.
The sub is toppy and is the seme, the Dom isn't a dom and is the uke . . . it just wasn't anything like any of Dare's other BDSM works.
This would appeal to people looking for a gay-for-you friends-to-lovers non-BDSM book. The story is actually very sweet, but it kind of broadsided me when I thought I was buying D/s PWP.
Good kinky short m/m romance about an allegedly straight guy who kisses his gay best friend on a dare from his obnoxious coworkers, then realizes that he might not be as straight as he'd always believed.
Ok, I liked this one, but not as much as I usually like Kim Dare books. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was longer, with more emotion between the two men.
Bryce and Carlton have been best friends for years, Bryce is gay, Carlton straight, when one night over a silly bet, Carlton kisses Bryce. That kiss awakens emotions and needs in Carlton that he was previously able to hide from both himself and his best friend. It also leaves Carlton with many questions about himself and his friend and he tries, unsuccessfully at first, to change his relationship with Bryce and explore his new desires. Once Bryce concedes to the change though, the two end up together in a sort of sweet, less kinky than I was expecting, love scene.
The thing is, I wasn’t convinced by the end that Bryce wanted Carlton as much as Carlton wanted him.
I don't know how I didn't mark this as read before now--the story made a good impression on me, as I was just recommending it to a friend.
The sub in this story is great fun, and I love that his submission must be earned. He's entirely comfortable with who he is, and isn't in the mood to be played with by someone who's questioning--even if it's his best friend. Both characters were distinctly male in this story, and their friendship was well-rendered.
Altogether a fun, interesting story that's hard to forget--and hot enough not to want to.
A good short story regarding best friends who become lovers.... or rather submissive and master. Enjoyable. ================================ 1st read - Feb 12, 2012 2nd read - May 10, 2016
The writing was funny, but I didn't get the feeling Bryce was as into it as Carlton. Maybe it was supposed to come across as sarcasm, but it just felt like ambivalence.
