Ellie's family have just adopted a beautiful Jack Russell puppy, who Ellie names Rascal. But she doesn't realise how right she is! Rascal is so naughty, and he's soon getting himself and Ellie into all sorts of trouble. Will she ever be able to keep up with him?
Holly Webb is one of Britain's best-loved children's writers. She has written over a hundred books for children, and her work has been translated into over thirty languages. Holly lives in Tilehurst, just outside of Reading, Berkshire, with her husband, three children and several cats.
When siblings Max, Lila and Ellie find out they're allowed a dog they have a huge decision to make as everyone wants a different breed their dad helps decide and soon enough they find a breeder and get their new pup, Rascal...
Rascal is a funny adventurous dog as we discover during this read from whining, chasing ducks, wrecking a vets and more we see over the course of the first week of the pup being in his new home just what he's capable of!
This is a great little book especially to make children aware of the responsibility a dog is and what comes with having one. I liked the mischievous puppy in the book for all the laughs and drama he brings to the bickering siblings lives and like a true pet makes Ellie very happy!
Sorry, but the book is terrible. Picking up a puppy from the breeder and then leaving him alone in the kitchen is not an option! For the first time he is without his mother and his siblings, is in a new environment and is then left alone!? Something like that is real emotional cruelty! And that's what kids are taught? How can you be so heartless? And instead of going out with the puppy when he has to pee, he is put on newspaper. Words fail me with such behavior!
