The National Geographic, I believe, has always been a great source of information. This specific one presents a lot of information about the Nile. It's a great one to have in the classroom.

The National Geographic Society has covered the ancient world rather well. From Greece, Rome, Mesoamerica, South America, India, South East Asia, to China. I especially enjoyed the photographs of timeless temples and the pyramids. It was interesting reading about Roman style heating from the first century A.D. All in all phenomenally displayed ancient architecture.

Very nice photos. Some text is wonderful, such as: "In the light of a crystalline Greek morning, early in May, acanthus leaves as dark as winter shadows curled against their milky likenesses carved in marble two thousand years ago."
