Ever wondered what happened when Mason (from Off Plan, Whispering Key #1) brings his boyfriend Fenn home to meet Micah and Constantine (from The Secret, O'Leary #3) for the first time? It becomes clear pretty quickly that some things--like true love, the spirit of competition, and epic quantities of rainbow glitter--are meant to last forever.
Note: This is a very short bonus story, which was previously available as part of a giveaway. No new content has been added. It also makes the most sense to read this story after you've read The Secret and Off Plan. Happy reading!
A short story of Mason bringing Fenn home to meet his brother.
I guess I expected a little more angst or funny, weird situations? Dunno. It's Mason and Fenn, come on. They deserved a little extra.
I'll read Micah's story, though. I wonder how his relationship with Con came to be, so I might aswell give it a shot. I was interested in their story in Mason and Fenn's book already. 🤞
I loved this when I originally read it as part of a free giveaway as it was a perfect blend of May's two series' which I adore.
There's no extra content here but it was still fun to catch up with the guys as they go all out in a unicorn-based competition at their niece's birthday party.
This was so much fun! It had me giggling nonstop. I loved that these grown-ass men went from zero to one hundred for the title of favorite uncle. I loved the unicorn triathlon and all of the other unicorn shenanigans. This was a solid four stars and I can't wait to check out more of both the main series this novella is part of.
𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: This is a sweet bonus epilogue set in the O’Leary/Whispering Key worlds featuring Constantine and Micah from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 (𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘖’𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 3) and Mason and Fenn from 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 (𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘦𝘺 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 1).
It’s best enjoyed after you’ve read those books.
This is a short & sweet romance, but it was filled with heart and heat. I loved it. Revisiting two of my favourite couples was just wonderful. I highly recommend it.
A guilty-pleasure short story. An O'Leary and Whispering Key cross-over. That moment when Micah and Constantine finally meet Mason and Fenn. And a whole lot of glitter.
["What happens when Mason takes Fenn (from Whispering Key's Off Plan) home to meet Micah and Constantine (from O'Leary's The Secret)? Unicorns, that's what."]
I’ve been waiting for this since halfway through WK1, imagining how it would go down.
Soooo not how I pictured it.
But also, it was in a way.
Honestly, who knew a unicorn party would be so competitive. And steamy..
(2,5 stars rated down) As stated in the blurb this was an O'Leary/Whispering Key crossover bonus short story featuring Constantine and Micah from The Secret and Mason and Fenn from Off Plan. Told from POV of each character it centers around Mason and Fenn's first visit as a couple to O'Leary, with a unicorn competition thrown in the mix in an effort to make this short story even remotely interesting. Spoiler alert: it didn't.
Maybe (there's no maybe about it) I'm a Grinch, but I found this short story unnecessary, unsubstantial piece of fluff. The only good thing about it was that it was the final installment in the O'Leary series which mean that I'm finally able to say good riddance and hope we never meet each other again to O'Leary and its inhabitants.
Theme: multiple POV, established relationship, meet the family
I rated this this Love in O’Leary/Whispering Key bonus novella 3.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 4 stars. I enjoyed this novella. This was about Mason bringing his boyfriend Fenn to meet his family in person, since they’ve only met over video. I liked getting snippets of Micah and Con and Mason and Fenn and seeing that they’re still extremely happy together and the chemistry with each couple is still off the charts, but I had no doubt as both couples are amazing together. Trust Con and Fenn to turn a child’s unicorn party in a way to try and one up each other. I’d recommend this bonus novella, the Love in O’Leary and Whispering Key universe and author to everyone.
This cross over, multi character story is so much fun. Not only do we get to revisit some of our favourite people form O’Leary and Whispering Key, but we get a romp of a story involving them getting into a ridiculous competition over becoming the favourite uncle, Unicorn style!
Constantine is absolutely hilarious, and I adore how Fenn just jumps right in.
Seriously, if you have read both series, you absolutely have to read this little gem.
Well written story and well developed characters! Fenn and Mason are coming to O'Leary to celebrate a wedding and a couple of birthdays! Conn and Micah (Mason's brother) have gotten married! Of course with two little girls in attendance, it HAD to be a Unicorn party! As well as a competition!
And I love the whole vibe of them all together at the same time.
This was an adorable little short that was just cute and fun, and added a little bit of extra happiness to both Micah and Con as a married couple and Mason and Fenn and their potential together.
I loved being able to see Mason and Fenn again, I loved Micah truly loving and missing his little brother so much (because Mason is wonderful and deserves everything), but I’ve just never really liked it when the story centers around kids and having kids, so the setting just made the novella fun in areas and mostly just okay overall for me (ㆀ˘・з・˘)
This was fine, but the silliness was a little OTT. Plus, when you have two characters together who were written in a similar manner (Constantine and Mason), you end up with a bit of a 'voice' issue (where they sounded so much alike that it kind of ruined both men for me). I still love their individual stories (especially Constantine's), but this didn't really work that well for me.
I would love to visit O'Leary and meet all of the quirky people who live there. And go to a party with unicorns! Fun story with hilarious competition between brothers for best uncle crown and I admit I was happy that Fenn won this time.
Short, funny and cute. Lots of love and quirky fun in this bonus epilogue with both Micah and Constantine and Mason and Fenn. Throw in the unicorn games and a child's birthday party and you can't lose. 🦄🦄🌈💖
Best short ever!!! I adored this one on all levels. It was sweet, funny, sexy and heartwarming. Completely adorable!! Mason and Con -and THAT update- and Fenn and Mason ughh so cute!
No one, even May Archer, should have anywhere close to this much fun writing. I think she needs to be also classified as a humorist. Unexpected zaniness with real people having fun just as families should be doing.
I was right. This crossover between the two series was hilarious. But then again, that's expected when you have Fenn and Con getting together and competing for the "Best Unicorn Uncle." Man, I giggled my way through this whole short story.
Whispering Key / O'Leary mashup surrounding a Ross family party (Micah & Mason) Just a few scenes/chapters. It's kind of a bonus epilogue to THE SECRET (Love in O'Leary 3) and OFF PLAN (Whispering Key 1)
This was absolutely adorable and made me laugh so much. It made me want to reread the O'Leary series again, even if I had just done that earlier this year. I do need more Fenn and Con competitions now, though 😁
This book has the perfect amount of crazy snarky humor mixed with all the feels. It was nice to be back in O Leary. Totally miss this place and these people.
