Mr. Dobbs has written (and apparently self-published) several how-to books for various software applications, and technologies. The strengths of this slim book is he does cover the basics of installing a WordPress site, including all the various tools including site-hosting that you can bring your site to life. The writing is mostly clean and simple. Although the book does have chapter headings, it has no section headings, and reads if it was one long paper roll of notes, written under the deadlines of a time clock. There are also some spelling mistakes. It's a decent start, but it does pay to read this *together with other WordPress titles, and guides. (Rating: 3.1-3.4/5.0 stars).
