Ibn e Insha (Urdu: ابن انشاء‎) born in British India as Sher Muhammad Khan (Urdu: شیر محمد خان‎) is a renowned Pakistani Urdu poet, humorist, travelogue writer and columnist. Along with his poetry, he is regarded one of the best humorists of Urdu literature. His poetry has a distinctive diction laced with language reminiscent of Amir Khusro in its use of words and construction.
He migrated to Pakistan after partition and served at various government institutions including Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Culture and the National Book Centre of Pakistan. He also served at UN for some time. This enabled him to visit many places, all of which inspired the travelogues he would then pen.
He died of Hodgkin's Lymphoma on January 11, 1978 in London and was buried in Karachi.

First of all, what a quirky title, something that grabs your attention right away.

Second of all, diaries are a sort of memoir which I love. It gives an insight into that person's mind.

Third of all, and definitely the most important thing to note is that the book is hilarious, to say the least.

I have read his essays occasionally in magazines and throughly enjoyed. It never occurred to me that I should try and get hold of his books too. Thanks to my brother for recommending it to me. I was missing a brilliantly written book. I need to read his other book 'Urdu ki Akhari Kitaab'.

By reading this book I realized how much world overall is changed and how much of it is still the same. Foreign relations are definitely changed drasically. I wonder what would insha do in todays world.

Mafi chahty hain roman me likhny k liay , laikin kiya krain urdu me likhny ki kasht kon katy.

ager apki urdu bhi meri terha kasta hal ha tu ho skta ha apko b perhny me dair lagy, nahi tu yeh afsoos k sath yeh bohat mukhtasir tehrir ha.

kuch batain itni mazah ki hain k perhty perhty qehqahy lagany ko dil chahta ha, phr yeh soch k log hmain pagal na samaj bhaithy apny ap ko sambhalny ki koshish me kuch lal peely ho k bath jaty hain.

Re read this book because Insha's dry sarcastic humor is an excellent soup for the soul. Want a change of taste ? Dont hesitate to dive in even if you are not an Urdu intellectual. It will make you laugh one way or another.

Although ibn Insha is very brilliant writer but this book is extremely expansive and the print and paper quality is very poor. Paid 800 rupees for 158 pages. Now I am feeling regretted whenever this book came into my sight. I recommend people not buy this book in hardcopy but download it from anywhere..

A good Urdu book written by a genius of Pakistan, about his travels in various European contrives during the late 60s. Gave me many insights of that time Europe, the changes occurred from that time and similarities with present. Especially the industrial practices and method used those days. He wrote a few of hotels during the 60s were having attached washrooms with rooms, and a Pneumatic tube system used for mail delivery in Germen cities were amazing things to know as an engineer.
