Solomon (Anishnaabe-Ojibwe from Henvy Inlet) has done a great job with these. He’s a minor celebrity in my world having visited the school I work at to do puppet shows bringing the characters from his graphic novels to life. I’m also a big fan. Think Anishnaabe Asterix. Culturally validating, adventure filled and humorous. Also Solomon is a good artist.

I found that this book was very well written. Some of the illustrations were slightly boring to me, or the way the people were presented in the illustrations wasn't the most appealing for me. The things that i found to be best about the book was the story line and the adventure that they went on.

A fun take on a chapter of Canadian history--good for kids and their grown-ups to read together.

The style reminded me of Asterix and Obelix. Sweet and funny. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.
