This was an entertaining book to read because the characters came alive as I read them from the page. Cole was a drifter who had lost his son and his wife and he had no intentions of every putting his heart on the line again. He came to Rachel's ranch to seek a temporary job and then move on, but it seems fate had different plans when a Rachel has to suddenly become a mommy and Cole ends up taking more of the daddy role than he's ready for.
