This book is a beautiful and most loving tribute to our beloved furry family members now residing in the land of The Rainbow Bridge. The story was written in the animals' voices with much love and compassion to help heal those suffering through this tremendous loss - be they age 7 or 97.
Henley's own life came to an end on March 13th, 2010, just three days after his twelfth birthday - but his story continues. In true "Henley" tradition, this dear old dog comforts us from another place - to help those who have suffered the loss of a pet, and to give them a sense of closure. This is such a beautiful book. It was sent to me a few days after my dog, Billie passed away. I have long known about The Rainbow Bridge (and accompanying poem, author unknown) but never read a story about it in detail. The first few pages were hard to read because it brought up painful memories of losing Billie but I found comfort in the rest of its pages. It allowed me to visualize Billie in a beautiful place, free of pain, filled with everything he loved.. except for the humans he left behind. This is a great book. It is also written at a level that young children could understand.. so really, it is a book for everyone who has ever lost a pet.

Wonderful book for all ages. I've lost so many furkids in my lifetime and I've always wanted to know what it's like at the Rainbow Bridge. Now I was finally able to get a glimpse through this book
