Finally sat down and finished reading the tale of Cat and Tarika. Cat found out on her birthday that she was a cross between a "nighter" (think vampire) and a family of nighthunters. Cute, contemporary, endearing plot w/ several twists and lots of tension but good values of friendship and parenting, plus well-developed characters. Sure, the protagonist is unreasonably level-headed. Oh well: this is a fantasy, after all.
