Another sparkling crime novel in the Wild Onion series. It’s always a pleasure to open a book knowing you are in the hands of an experienced storyteller. Author David Walker has been around the block a few times and he has the accolades to show for it. His latest does not disappoint. Here we have a pair of wise and witty practitioners who are married to each other. The second book I've read in the Wild Onion series (not in order of course). The husband and wife team are a perfect pair for solving crimes (Kirsten is a former Chicago cop turned private investigator and her husband, Dugan, is an attorney). Both stories I've read started with Dugan getting in a jam and Kirsten bailing him out. There's a nice side story about Kirsten and Dugan's fertility issues. A woman investigates when her husband is questioned about the murder of a police officer.

The story was reasonable but it had too many 'red herrings' / loose ends.
