When I say that I've read this book, I read the introductory articles, and then I treat the rest of the articles as a resource when searching for literature for my 6th and 7th grade groups. Many of the articles in the book cover excellent topics for curricular considerations, literature selection, and teaching literature to young students. However, the chapter on technology usage is outdated (more than 17 years old now as I write this) and is the only article that has not aged well.

Highly recommended for teachers for beginning band students!
