Extraordinary Guidance: How to Connect with Your Spiritual Guides

Rate this book
"Liza Wiemer opens doors to the soul that few of us realize even exist. Read this book, explore its methods, and open yourself to the wisdom to which each of us is heir."
Rabbi Rami M. Shapiro, author of Wisdom of the Jewish Sages

A complete guide for readers of any religion, Extraordinary Guidance  teaches how to contact the spiritual guides that watch over every soul and apply their wisdom for practical results in your everyday life as well as for a richer spiritual life.

In the late 1980s, channeling was the popular way to receive spiritual guidance. In the early '90s, angels became accessible. Now we know we can go directly to the source--to the spiritual guides themselves--and Liza Wiemer reveals how everyone can contact his or her own spiritual guides for invaluable life guidance.

Extraordinary Guidance explains what spiritual guides are and provides easy and effective step-by-step instructions for connecting with them, including how to get in the right state of mind to talk with these powers that guide us. Through examples and personal anecdotes of her own spiritual guide, Wil, Wiemer shows how the discovery of the wisdom within enables people to make positive changes in their lives and help others to do the same, and, ultimately, to work toward bridging the gap between the spiritual and physical worlds.

My latest YA contemporary novel, The Assignment, was published by Delacorte Press and was named a Sydney Taylor Notable Book, among other honors. I am also the author of Hello? and two non-fiction adult books, short stories, and newspaper and magazine articles. A pre-school to high school educator now conducting workshops and writing. I'm a Green Bay Packers fan and I love nature walks, rooftops, and fun socks.

Unique "job" experiences: I spent a summer selling popcorn in a Koepsell's popcorn wagon while listening to awesome music on the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee. I also know my way around a fender and a quarter panel and under the hood of a car. I spent a few years driving to accident scenes, scrapyards, hospitals, auto repair shops as a claims adjuster for an insurance company.

Happy reading, Liza

In her extraordinary book, Liza Wiemer teaches readers how to connect with their spiritual guides. These guides are ever-present to help us make the best decisions for ourselves and those we love. Wiemer, a teacher by training, knows lays out the steps to connecting in a logical, easy-to-read format. She even gives specific instructions for different modes of learning – auditory, visual and kinesthetic. When I started reading the book, I doubted my ability to connect, but by the time I finished, I knew that I had already connected and received guidance. Knowing that spiritual support is there and actually being able to sense it, is incredibly, extraordinarily reassuring.

I actually learned how to connect with my Spiritual Guide after reading the Author's suggestions on how to do it! I was lying next to my toddler while he was napping and I actually heard my Guide speaking to me through my thoughts. Was I ever shocked! I knew it wasn't my voice as the messages I was getting had words that I typically never used. It was and continues to be an incredible experience. I received answers to questions that I pondered for much of my adult life. The process of learning is interesting and quite simple. I also enjoyed reading about the Author's connection with her Spiritual Guide Will. Don't miss out on this amazing book!!!!!

(This is going to be the world's most unusual review. Again, like I said, I'm Liza's publicist for her novel and she is also now my friend. I don't take to people very easily, but I took to Liza right away. She is one of the warmest, kindest and most genuine people I know.)

I don't read very much nonfiction, and I read even less religion nonfiction. But Liza is one of my authors, and I absolutely loved her debut YA novel HELLO? which is one of my books. And while I don't necessarily know about spirit guides, I knew that I was definitely drawn to this book.

So here's the thing. I don't have much belief in New Agey stuff, and this definitely seemed like that. But I know that Liza's not crazy and I know that she isn't the type to just make stuff up, so that left one possibility: that this is real. Which is somehow even scarier. (There is a chapter on potential blocks to talking to spirit guides; I have almost all of them.)

I asked Liza a question and got a very, very detailed answer of stuff that she couldn't have known. And yes, she's not dumb so she could've intuitively guessed some answers, but...it helped.

So I guess I would say this: even if you're skeptical, read this. And if you feel a nudging toward it, like I did, listen to it.

Highly recommended.

This was a random borrow from the library that I kept around to read after using it as a reference on an etymology paper I wrote on the word "Inspiration."

The book was pretty normal as far as these types of books go. I liked that it gave step by step processes for making connection for three different learning types: Audio, Visual and Kinesthetic (physical). It also gave a lot of attention to areas of "blocking" or difficulty, meaning walls or obstacles in your life or mind that you need to overcome before contact can be made.

Like most of these types of books that I read, I try what I read for a week or two and don't get much. That doesn't mean that what is written is a scam or doesn't work, it just didn't work for me, but that's no one's fault but my own.

I felt this book was okay. Heavy in Religion and second guessing of guides this bothered me a lot.The Author has a good writing skill though and good insights.
