First "long" book I read as a child. I got my copy from Book Sale. It was tattered and the pages were yellow. Still, as a child, it instantly became my favorite. This - along with the Junie B. Jones series - is what got me into reading.

This is my most favorite book from my childhood. I have read it several times and I enjoyed it each time. Its light hearted, funny and a warm cozy read.

This was one of my favorite books as a kid.

I read this to my kids and, so sad, it does not hold up. I don't know why this book held such a huge space in my imagination as a kid, because it's so flimsy and poorly written (ahh, I hate to admit it.). My kids seemed to like it, for what that's worth. It reminds me of the Notebook of Doom books that are published these days which look barely better than garbage to me but my kids like.

Read-aloud, boys, ages 9, 6.
