I'm glad that I finally went back and finished this book. The content was timely for me, as I begin to transition into a new year. While most of the addictions discussed in the book don't directly apply to me, I still enjoyed reading about how the biochemistry of ADD & addiction interact, as well as learning about the recovery/relapse spectrum. And I always appreciate having practical tools at my disposal to manage some of the issues that both ADD and addiction foster in my life.

The story of Gracie being pulled over in her car was priceless. I can so relate. First about being unaware that the police is pursuing you, then rambling inappropriately, getting overwhelmed and failing the sobriety test. I'm sure anxiety can render one unable to walk a straight line and reciting the alphabet backwards? I made it to 3 letters...

Really informative book, but I was hoping for more strategies dealing with less obvious addictive / impulsive behaviours such as impulse spending, overeating. However, there were some very useful tips and ideas.

This was more of a general book about AD/HD than a specific book about addictive behavior.
