Time Out Shortlist Rome is the insider's guide to one of the world's most visited cities. Written by local experts, the annually published guide provides extensive coverage of the major sights . . . and then goes much further. Featuring everything from born-again trattorie to the burgeoning apertivo trend, it offers visitors the chance to live the Eternal City as the Romans do. The guide contains comprehensive arts and cultural coverage, along with hundreds of independent reviews. The guide divides the Eternal City into six areas, each with separate listings for Sights and Museums, Eating and Drinking, Shopping, Nightlife, and Arts and Leisure, each with maps pinpointing the highlights.
Compact and useful Rome (and Vatican City) guide with plenty of reviews and advice. The book offers some suggestions on itineraries, information by area, “Don’t Miss” options along with essentials on where to stay, some vocabulary, and getting around. It’s colorful and easy to read. I liked the menu glossary at the end. Nice supplement to travel research on Rome though some things may be dated as it was written for 2012.
