The Colors of Learning: Integrating the Visual Arts into the Early Childhood Curriculum gives the preschool teacher ideas, ways to present visual experiences and how to create conversations to draw children out to talk about what they create and what they are learning in the 'Art Center' of the classroom. I liked how using art the teacher is shown ways to direct conversation about learning in other areas. For example a child was drawing a shark and the teacher commented that she liked the shark. ...more
