I read a few selected chapters since my cat was showing symptoms of unknown food allergies/intolerance. I found some satisfactory answers to my questions (in this book, since vet visits are so short and hurried, they don't have time to explain), but am also intrigued by the amount of mysteries in veterinary science, as there are many common phrases such as "poorly documented", "poorly understood", "not fully elucidated", "only investigated to a minor degree", and inexplicable cases of recovery and relapse. We've been keeping pets for millennia and still know so little about them!
