Great little book about what to think about before making the move to a small town. It methodically reviews things like how many banks are there and are they local, speak to the principal of the local high school, review the library selection and ask the librarian for the name of the best restaurant in town and then visit it. It reviews numerous small towns (but doesn't rank them). This book was written in 2002 and I haven't checked to see if there is an update, but it might need one. I also like that it asks why you want to move to a small town and list those reasons (fresh air, less crime, etc.). It also lists the reasons people might want to live in a city (great restaurants), and to think about what you might be giving up. Great information.
