Very original, insightful and unique.

I find Olga Tokarczuk's prose extraordinarily poetic. Her words seduce me, make me think, make me imagine different strange worlds - those that were or that will never be...

Now, don't get me wrong. Olga Tokarczuk doesn't write fantasy, I would descibe her stories as Magic Realism where the borders between reality and spirituality are blurred, at best.

Here, in The Last Stories, we can meet three generations of women from the same family as we can read three di

Terwijl handelen, m.i., toch eigen is aan heldendom.

It’s not the story itself, but the way the story is written. For this, Olga almost deserves 5 stars. She writes about time and its transience by revealing the destinies of 3 women, 3 generations actually, so delicately, but strongly interwined. Though connected by blood, each woman has a very distinct and independent story.

Very metaphoric book, anyone will take something else from it. Worth reading.
Cititor necunoscut

When do you start dying? Can you name the precise moment ? The question was raised so my mind started looking for an answer. And I found it. But maybe life it’s not like a mountain peak from where you can only climb down, maybe it’s more like hills and valleys and so I’m not dying inside, I’m just on my own road with my ups and downs.
There are 2 kind of truths? At least. The true one and the one that we see through our so different lenses.
Franciszek Porayski-Pomsta
Autorka przedstawia nam tu trzy historie. Nie każda z nich przypadła mi do gustu.
Pierwsza jest bardzo trudna do przebrnięcia.
Druga mnie całkowicie zachwyciła i wreszcie poczułem TĘ Tokarczuk.
