How can a person in a coma be witness to a murder? but Cyrus Winchester is sure that he has witnessed the murder of a nurse in the nursery of the hospital where he was a patient in a coma but no one believes him.
Everyone is concerned that somehow he has mixed a dream with reality and fear that he is losing his mind. Cyrus, though is determined to get to the bottom of this and thus, satisfy his restlessness, arising from this supposed murder episode, once and for all.
Kate Landon, the owner of Second Hand Kate's has come to Whitehorse to find out what happened to her mother and her aunt thirty years ago and her search leads her to Cyrus. Soon it becomes clear that the woman lying in a pool of blood in the nursery whom Cyrus saw in his dream is none other than her aunt but

how can someone witness a murder that has already happened thirty odd years ago? Is he psychic and if not then how can he "remember exactly how the old tiles felt on my bare feet or the way the place smelled or that I can describe the hospital to you if I was never awake to see it?"

A book with a dark and paranormal element to it, takes the reader a step higher with its admirable plot, super tense scenes and a mystery that is sure to leave the reader reeling and shocked. A more heightened atmosphere with undercurrents of the deepening Winchester family mystery where everyone has the means and motive to commit a crime with dark secrets each one of them is determined to protect.

Another splendidly written book by B.J. Daniels and worth every penny spent, I was thoroughly entertained by the story and also lost several of my nails, so engrossed was I with the suspense!! :)

Although I didn't quite understand the logic of the title, nevertheless, it is a beautiful continuation to an awesome series. It whispers solutions to some mysteries and leaves some mysteries unanswered for the successive books.

A deserving 4.2 out of 5 to "Boots and Bullets". Don't miss it. :)

I like B. J. Daniels and have read several of her books. This one doesn't disappoint.
Cyrus Winchester wakes up from a 3 month coma and is convinced he saw a murder at the hospital he was in first in Whitehorse, Montana. He says good by to his twin brother Cordell and heads to Whitehorse. This has so many things going on the biggest being a double murder mystery. I don't want to tell to much and give away anything away. It is a few days before Halloween. The more questions Cyrus ask the more dangerous it becomes for himself and Kate Landon daughter of one of the dead women, but not the one Cyrus saw in his dream. This is a good mystery.

What a thrilling adventure! This book kept me glued to my e-reader. I was so engrossed in the story that the time flew by. I was entrenched in the story like I was right there in the middle of everything. I felt so many emotions while reading this book.

I just love all of the Winchester clan. Some have a reappeared in this book as there is still the sub-plot to the series that is going on as well as the plot to this story. Who helped with the murder of Trace Winchester all those years ago? Yes, Pepper Winchester the matriarch of the clan is still up to her tricks. Now in this book what exactly did Cyrus see while he was in a coma? Did a murder really happen then? If so, why does everything else show that he never left his bed? What intrigue awaits the reader here?

I loved the multi-person POV format. There is so much going now here that it really helps to understand all of the characters actions and speech with seeing things from their POV.

I highly recommend this story. Start at the beginning of this series as there are things that will make more sense to you. Ten stars if I could give it that.

BOOTS AND BULLETS by B.J. Daniels is Book 4 of Whitehorse, Montana: Winchester Ranch series and now a bonus story in Daniels’ COLD CASE AT CARDWELL RANCH. Cyrus Winchester’s last attempt at helping a damsel in distress led to a coma and a stay in the Whitehorse hospital where he swore that he had witnessed a murder. Just when he decides it was all a dream, he meets Kate Landon who uncannily resembles to the murder victim. His investigation is bringing old secrets to life, secrets that point to Kate being a target of a merciless killer. Driven to keep her safe, he'd give his all to protect the woman he loves…but will it be enough? Woo-wee! What a story! Ghost chasing, twists and turns, dark, lurking dangers . . . B.J. Daniels lures this reader into the spooky plot of BOOTS AND BULLETS.

I haven't read the other books in this series, and I wasn't lost, so a standalone.

It was a 5-star review until the ending. There's an epilogue a few months in the future but it needed more. Was the H planning on returning to Denver? What happened to his business with his brother? Who killed his uncle 30 years ago?

Story has a lot of suspense, many villains, twists, great main and secondary characters and perfect pacing. Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 2 out of 5. Romance builds slowly, which I liked. Touch of paranormal with the H experiencing a murder in great detail, but he was in a coma. This wasn't explained why this happened to him.

No cheating, HEA, some romance and a tad of spice. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

Winchester twin, Cyrus, wakes up from a coma after three months, convinced he witnessed a murder ‘last night’ despite the improbability. Kate Langdon, recent Whitehorse resident came to town and started a business four months ago and looks remarkably similar to the murder victim Cyrus believes he saw.

Kate has doubts about her past and some pieces fit neatly into Cyrus’ belief as the two pair to look for answers. This outing is not as fast paced as its predecessors but it is just as intriguing if not more with a strong mystery from page one.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Whitehorse, MT: Winchester Ranch series. I have read the second and third book in this series before picking up this book. I do feel you need to read the third book in this series before picking up this book. There are a lot of things in the beginning of this book that are tied to the second book. I really loved this book. This is a fast paced action and suspense packed book with a little bit of romance mixed in.

I really liked this book. Who dreams up these things? We know who BJ Daniels! Who would think of a man getting hit my a car and having a dream about something that happened 30 years ago?
I really liked Cyrus and then Kate came along and the rest is history.

Thank you so much for writing books that have love, a little danger, but always a good ending!

More and more secrets are being exposed. This one started with a dream. Cyrus comes back to Whitehorse after his recovery. He needs to know the truth. Kate needs to find out what really happened to her mother and aunt.

I enjoyed the story. A very interesting storyline; however, I didn't understand the title of Boots and Bullets. Title is misleading and for me didn't follow the storyline! The Dream Girl or The Dream Case would have been a more appropriate title.

A {maybe} psychic cowboy? That's a different angle to take in a book. AND IT WORKED! I liked this book. It combined the supernatural, western, romance and suspense, all tied up with a nice haunted house :). This was one of the books where I did not see 'who done it' until Daniels says straight out at the end who did it. "Boots and Bullets" (I still don't get the name, though) was a real page turner where you didn't know what was going to happen next, if someone was going to die, or be hurt, or if they main characters were ever going to 'hook up'. The inner turmoil the characters faced and the 'secrets' that weren't very secret-worthy kept the reader saying 'huh?'.

There was one story line that wasn't tied off nicely, in my opinion, but I think that that was left open for another book in the series. One I will be reading if it comes out...

I can see why this book was voted a "Harlequin Must Read".

Another in the "Whitehorse, Montana" series. I thought this would wrap up all the loose ends in the series but there will be more stories, obviously. All it did was introduce a few new characters, a new romance, and more killers in the town. If I lived there I would get the hell out - fast.

Another series that I have read out of order. I'd already read the book that comes after this one (the one about Jace Dennison) so that sorta took the suspence out of it. THis is one of my favorite authors. I love these little purple books!
