Research Methods for A Skill Building Approach,5 th Edition is a concise and straightforward introduction for students to the world of business research. The skill building approach provides students with practical perspectives on how research can be applied in real business situations. Maintaining Uma Sekaran’s popular and accessible style of writing, Roger Bougie draws upon his extensive experience of the field to present an up-to-date guide on business research for the aspiring future manager. The fifth edition has a new chapter on qualitative data analysis, featuring a case study of the research process. The chapters on scientific investigation, the broad problem area and defining the problem statement, measurement of variables, experimental designs, sampling, and quantitative data analysis have all been substantially revised. Additional real-life cases have been included and examples are taken from Europe, Asia and the US to give students a comprehensive view of modern business research methods.
This book is a very important guide for doing Research. I read most of it as a part of my "Business Research Methods" Class It is very informative and simple. I believe I will reread it again
This review is actually for the tenth edition of this textbook, published in 2016.
I don't often consider people reviewing actual textbooks, but this is an amazing resource for learning the basics of research and experimental design. I would highly suggest this to anyone who has also read The Skeptics Guide To The Universe, and wants to know more detail about how to properly conduct scientific research. I rented this book from the school library, but I don't think I'm going to return this one.
This book contain a very deep and wide-coverage material, it covers all type of research methods in the field of business studies: quantitative, qualitative, and mix-mode approaches. I recommend every postgraduate to own a copy of this book.
