Seattle has one of the world's most lovely natural settings. Explore the waterfront, Pikes Market, charming neighborhoods and the University of Washington on foot. Fall in love with this beautiful city as you walk.
Charming. The book is filled with lovingly sketched maps and handwritten routes around Seattle and its many neighborhoods. It has inspired me to journal by sketching more, not just when traveling, but even on local walks and daytrips. I'm looking forward to trying the walks out. There are conveniently 52 of them, so you have enough for a guided adventure each week of the year.
This is such a great little guide with drawings, sketches and directions for several walks around Seattle. I picked this gem up from the co-op on my last day in Seattle, although I never got to use the book as a guide, it is nice to have it as a keepsake of the streets of my favourite city in the U.S. Hopefully if I can visit Seattle for the 3rd time, I will be able to use this book to find more places to explore!
Pleased to find this very useful tool for discovering Seattle, for new arrivees and long time residents alike, at www.santorosbooks.com in Greenwood. As billed, the book possesses a "walk for every occassion," including the Spring Tree Blossoms walk (Capitol Hill #37) that we took last weekend (http://aholeinthesidewalk.blogspot.co...). Enjoy!
I love the idea of this book and don't want to give it a low rating, but the way it's put together doesn't work for my brain. The handwritten pages feel jumbled and confusing and don't entice me to put them to use. Based on other reviews, I am clearly in the minority on this, so please pick it up for yourself and see what you think.
