Both G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and the Transformers have been loved by millions across the world for years. This story begs to ask WHAT IF the Transformers, living alien robots from another world, fell into the hands of COBRA, a small, quickly growing organization bent on world domination? When Cobra launches its first attack on U.S. soil, armed with tanks, jets and vehicles that transform into giant robots, it's too much for the regular armed forces to handle, and G.I. Joe is formed to stop them. Freeing the heroic Optimus Prime from Cobra's control is our world's only hope.
Pretty neat adaptation of the classic mini series. They took a completely different approach, even rewriting the Joe team’s origin and how Snake Eyes injured his face.
Once the story got going it was really good. Nice race to beat the clock at the end as well.
One of many such crossovers between the two franchises, but this takes the novel approach of creating a completely new timeline where the Transformers are integral to the origins of G.I. Joe and Cobra. The result leans a bit more heavily towards the Joe side, and the story might be just slightly too long, but still a pretty solid tale with some fun interactions. (B+)
A good book. It’s an origin story for GI Joes and Transformers living in the same world and how they influence each other. Pretty good, not necessarily something to hunt down unless you’re a lifelong fan.
This was a quick and easy read. I really liked the art on this one. The story was interesting as it was an origin tale. What would happen if the Transformers, who landed on earth millions of years ago, were discovered by an unheard of until now group known as COBRA? After an initial strike, the U.S. forms the task force of G.I. Joe to deal with the threat. Overall, it makes for a fast action story, with a bit of a small machiavellian twist at the end. I think fans of G.I. Joe and the Transformers will enjoy this comic. Pretty good reading.
