Best book I ever read real shit n real life no one can tell it better then this man

I am not a fan of street-lit, worse yet I am not a big fan of rappers trying to act, much less writing. When I heard that C-Murder wrote a book- fiction no less, I rolled my eyes, hard. Then I happened to read an excerpt from the book in one issue of Vibe magazine and gasp! - It actually sounded good. Well written, grammatically correct, interesting. I was shocked and but still put off actually purchasing the book for a while. I mean any excerpt could sound good and be grammatically correct. Plu

I had really low expectations when I first picked up this book, but was thankfully blown away by how invested I got into the main character. This book is the tragic story that so many people live in today, it is about a young minority that is robbed of his mother and father at young age. It is a story of how the streets can lift you up one minute and swallow you the next. It is a story of friends and how they can be smiling in your face in one minute but stab you in the back the next. It is a st

I was easily the biggest No Limit slappy in my little circle of rap fans. Whenever Master P and the soldiers dropped a new album, which at one time seemed like once a month, I was at the record store picking it up. Being one of my favorite artists on “the Tank”, I was naturally pumped when I heard that C-Murder had written a book with the same name as 2Pac’s classic cut from the "Me Against the World" album.

Absolutely awesome! I had a feeling when I picked this up that it wouldn't be regular old urban fiction and I was right! I have no doubt in my mind and I just know that this isn't entirely fictional. I have no doubt that there really wass a Daquan and a Nut. I don't mean that in the sense that there are millions but that there was actually one Daquan and one Nut. Most of the others as well.
It's rare to get writing like this in the urban fiction genre- as sad as it is to say that, it's true. The ...more

The book was great for the first 75% but seemed to me like the author needed to end it. It felt like he used a little "deus ex macchina" to get it over with. I honestly say I liked it especially some of the NOLA references. There were some that turned my head like talking about having po boys at Cafe du Monde, but generally it was a fun read.

Book is very well written. The fact that Daquan could see his dead sister from the moment his life was changed by his father's actions; foretold how his life would turnout. The many people that told him to change was another sign. Look forward to reading more from author.
