Beautiful sermons on the later Fathers of the Church, both Greek and Latin. Benedict's deep knowledge and love shine through these homilies.

As with the previous book, The Fathers, Vol. I, this series of essays (originally homilies) synthesize a vast amount of information about the Fathers, the history of the Church, and the application of their teachings to modern life in general and our own lives in particular. (my review of that book is here)

This review book is welcome as it reminded me of the treasure awaiting in Pope Benedict's homilies. I am currently reading an essay a day as a devotional reading. A full review will come
