I remember when this came out, I so wanted to read this as well, but too much else going on. Please God, now if it be Your Will... So many amazing Church heroes here!

Beautiful sermons on the later Fathers of the Church, both Greek and Latin. Benedict's deep knowledge and love shine through these homilies.

As with the previous book, The Fathers, Vol. I, this series of essays (originally homilies) synthesize a vast amount of information about the Fathers, the history of the Church, and the application of their teachings to modern life in general and our own lives in particular. (my review of that book is here)
