I have only given this two stars because I am not sure I really understood it except the boys confusion at the strange going's on with the adults. I can see that with a little bit more contextual knowledge this would probably make more sense.

People insultingly called donkeys, men being tormented by being forced to say 'I am a woman' and women selling themselves for cucumbers and melons. Truly, this novel has everything.
