From the minds of artists/storytellers Jesse Labbe and Anthony Coffey comes this epic tale of two adorable, fur-covered races doomed by their own escalating violence! The Ele-Alta and the Cropones wage war over the island of Berona's most desirable piece of real the land called Amity. Cute and cuddly on the outside, but ferocious to the core, these fuzzy fighters will continue their bloodshed no matter the cost! The Berona's Field Guide provides a great introduction to the world of Berona's War, featuring maps, devious strategies, weapons, character and troop descriptions, and the history of wartime events.
I got this title based on a recommendation from a fellow librarian (Tyler Rousseau). It's a comic that examines war......and is a great read whether you're looking at a fun look at a made up world, or a deep examination of the futility of war.......and it's a fast read......definitely worth getting and trying.
The illustrations were cute and it was definitely a field guide, but it was not gripping. I wish it had had the field guide balanced alongside a story, since I started getting lost with all the "they fought for this side and they did this," and "they fought for this side and they did that." An intriguing way to look at war through each cast member.
Bizarre little book that's written as a "Field Guide" but doesn't actually have a story per se. The Ele-Alta and the Cropones are two types of creatures who go to war with ever-escalating weapons and technology.
