Fun ideas on how to bring stories to life by drawing while telling a story. Might be fun to do this with an older group of kids.

Loved Tiko and Buko, and the idea of combining it with reading Shel Silverstein's "Who Wants To Buy a Cheap Rhinoceros?" (19 copies, AR 2.8) and the idea of designing an eye chart that an optometrist might use to test a rhino's eyes.

Also liked Willy's Gift. Might be fun to do with a story the kids read about juggling or clowns, circus. Book also gives the idea of having the kids make up what adventures Willy had during the last year.

My second collection of twelve draw-and-tell stories. Even more than my picture books, my draw-and-tell stories were the mainstay of my storytelling and workshop presentations over the years. Note to self: relearn some of these stories to tell to Effie... HANK AND THE TOOTH FAIRY, TIKI AND BUKO, THE HORN PLAYERS, WILLY'S GIFT...
