Excitement, danger, and falling for the man of her dreams all have Grace Under Pressure.

College professor Grace Michaels has enough on her plate with her research, her ex-fiancé showing up in town, her parents parking their RV in front of her house, and her attempt to entice her sexy neighbor, new sheriff, Ren Morello, into having an affair, when someone breaks into her h

I really appreciate the humor this author includes in her books. The sexual tension between the main characters was definately hot, I would have enjoyed more of a peek at the romance between the secondary characters, but still a good read all in all.

Grace may not be the personification of her name, but really...a tumble down the stairs, a poisoned casserole, almost being hit by a car. Why would anyone want to kill a mild-mannered history professor?

Mild-mannered? Who does she think she's kidding?

REALLY impressed with this story line!
Excellent plot and characters!

It's interesting. I started reading this book and being interested in Grace and her story line. But about half way through, I was completely won over by the secondary storyline/romance. I loved it, turning pages, waiting for those characters to reappear with scenes in the story.

All was going well until the story arc of that secondary storyline ... we're left hanging. Literally. The chapter ends, we go back to reading about the primary story and then we come back to the secondary story and we get
A clumsy but adorable heroine by the name of Grace Michaels meets a sarcastically funny hero, Ren Morello.

Grace is a dowdy looking College Professor. Ren is the new Chief of Police. The story takes place in a small Texas town.

Grace teaches at the small town college in Cannon, TX where she grew up. She returned to Cannon several years earlier after a failed relationship with an ex-finance who cheated on her, stole her research project, and various other horrible things that ex-finances do in the

What a great story! I couldn't put this down! I really thought I had this who-dun-it story all figured out, but the author threw me for a loop! I love it when my theories are proved wrong. This was a bit different that other romances I've read and I love it when I can think to myself that I haven't read a book quite like the one I just finished.

Grace is a lovable character. She's a spitfire! But I also love just how real she seems. She has good friends who are looking out for her when her ex fia

Professor Grace Michael needed to show her parent's home to the new sheriff of Cannon, Texas, her parents had leased the home and took off traveling in a motor home to tour the country. Grace saw an empty coffee cup on the porch railing and instead of climbing the steps to fetch it, she leaned over the rose bushes but just as she touched it her feet slipped and she pitched face forward with her butt in the air. Grace hoped that no one saw her but as she tried to get up she heard a sexy voice ful ...more
I am someone who always loves a good romance between a warm, sexy and accident prone heroine with a bit of an aloof and controlled hero who finds his hard earned control shattered all around him. As I read Grace Under Pressure, I couldn't help but think to myself that I have read this earlier in my pre-review phase. Even if that were the case, I am really glad that I picked this up and enjoyed it, a story that left me wanting more of all the characters that cropped up as it unfolded.

Grace Michaels is being stalked. As a college professor and a practically non-exisitant love life, the break in at her office and home has turned her usually uneventful life upside down.
Ren Morello, the sexy new sheriff in town is just the knight and shining armor Grace needs. He is divorced, sexy and lucky for her, moved in next door in the house she currently rents out. But, Ren is skittish due to an unfaithful wife and a sticky divorce and has no intentions of getting emotionally involved wit

Gave this book 4 stars, it was very good, loved the Who done it type of book, with a very sexy erotic twist; Love the idea that there were two best friends, a brother and a Chief. Wow that Chief Morello, took my breath away, when he took Grace and finally he made love to her without speaking a word until it was over. I can understand the Chief, in some way he was already married, his wife cheated on him and he did't want to be tied down again. But with Grace he couldn't deal the way he lust for ...more

I give it to Mrs Schroeder. She did have an intersting idea but she couldn't keep focused on what she wanted to do. If this was supposed to be a steamy romance with a mistery touch she failed greatly. it was very watered down and there was sex but no chemistry between the characters.

I actually didn't want to read this book at all. I simply downloaded the wrong Grace Unter Pressure. Which I wanted was Grace Under Pressure (A Manor of Murder Mystery, #1) by July Hyzy. LOL

Grace by name but not by nature hahaha yep a bit of a clutz. A professor who is researching a family history for a book. She has a ex who betrayed both the relationship and profession. Ren is the new sheriff in town. Painful  past relationship has put him off serious relationships.
These two meet and and it's one drama after funny and frustrating drama. Grace is a little insecure about herself and Ren doesn't want to have serious feelings. The confrontations between these to are funny and hot.

Another fun read from Melissa Schroeder! I enjoyed the humor in this book; I liked Grace and her unpredictability, this is also a romantic suspense with a good mystery to it, and while other writers screw up by just adding bits and pieces, they fail in the romance area - not this writer.

Grace Michaels, the nerdy history professor looks prim and proper, calm and controlled, and mild-mannered on the outside, but there's this fiery passion beneath that facade, that only Ren Morello unleashed. After

This is a re-read for me and just as satisfying as the first time. Grace Micheals has moved back to her home town after catching her now ex-fiance in an uncompromising position, heck he was having sex on his desk with someone else. Not only that, he stole her research and published a book with it. Grace is known for being clumsy and her first meeting with her neighbor, the new chief of police Ren Morello, is after slipping and he gets a good look at her bum. Ren has divorced his cheating wife an ...more

This was a cute read, and was definitely worth the time I spent reading reading (4-ish hrs or so I think?). The plot was interesting and I really didn't know who the baddie was until close to the end (awesome twist, love it when all I've thought gets flipped on its head! I really didn't see that coming at all!) Ren was hot and just the kind of neighbor I want. The subplot with Julia and Gabriel was good too, though I'd have loved to see those two get their own book (or short story! *hint, hint*) ...more
Cute, Romantic Suspense/Thriller... is that an oxymoron?

Grace is a college professor in the small town of Cannon; Ren is her new neighbor and the new chief of police. Grace's exfiance ends up in town causing all sorts of trouble and Grace has a stalker who turns into a potential murderer and of course Ren's gonna solve the case.

There's a secondary story involves her best friend Julia and her brother Gabriel... this was a weird subplot that was standalone and didn't connect to the main plot at al

If a book touches my heart enough to make me cry, it automatically gets 5 stars! For that reason, and many more, I am giving this book 5 Stars! Graces Under Pressure is hard to categorize. It's a mystery, a romance, and an erotic thriller. I'm not sure which of those I loved the most. The characters are so well-written that it is easy to relate to them. By the end of the book, I felt Grace's pain.
I have loved Melissa Schroeder's books for almost 10 years, so I'm not sure how I missed this amazi

This is a re-release of Melissa Schroeder’s first book. This is a sweet, funny, sexy contemporary romance. Grace is a slightly clumsy college professor with a heart of gold living and working in a small Texas town. Ren Morello is the hunky new sheriff who moves in across the street. He is recently divorced and wants to keep any and all interactions with the female set no strings. Grace was cheated on by her ex fiancé but is still the settling down kind and thus not for Ren no matter how sexy he ...more
I have several complaints about this book. First off, the editing was horrible - there were missing words and mismatched tenses all through the book. Second, the spine of this books says "Erotic Romantic Comedy" and I didn't find the story to be particularly funny or erotic. It's a 220 page book and there's no explicit sex until page 160. If you can get pass that, the story itself wasn't horrible, but the author did harp over and over again about the prudish appearance of the heroine and the com ...more

This is the first book I've read by this author, but I did enjoy it. Since it was published by Samhain, I wan't sure how erotic it would get, but actually it was tamer than a lot of the mainstream romances that I've read recently. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I'm always a sucker for stories where the mousy girl comes into her own. I didn't find the story of the secondary couple quite so believable. I must admit I didn't guess who the "bad guy" was until close to the end. All in all - ...more
Nice. But not much more than nice. I liked Grace, I liked Ren. I have a thing for cops and he was a Chief of Police.

It is more of a romance than a mystery and although I was intrigued by the story enough to finish it, it all went very fast. It had a naive feeling to it. It all takes place in a few weeks and although there was great chemistry their HEA was a bit... fast.

And also, there was a secondary story with Grace's brother and her best friend. I liked the second story a lot, but there was n

As a fan of Melissa's books I found this to be a sweet edition to her more erotic collection. This definitely has sex, seductive and steamy, which carries a different tone from her other books. The suspenseful story line was intriguing and kept me guessing. Sexy newcomer Sheriff Renaldo Morello has the hots for neighbor-landlady-professor Grace Michaels, all while someone is wrecking havoc on her life. I received a copy for review but I would have purchased anyway, a great read.

Good book, and I probably would have given it 4 stars if I hadn't loved the Harmless series so much. I was hoping for one similar to those, but it was more of a straight contemporary romance. It was very good, though! Weird, I'm wondering to myself, "What was the difference?" and I think it's just missing the kink! ;) It had a good mystery, though.

This was a very funny book. I got laughing so much I had to put the book down or risk my husbands wrath for waking him. It had a good mix of humor, suspense & romance, though slightly lacking in the passion department. I did expect a bit more for a Samhain publication. But still well worth the read. Highly recommended.

While the romance is definitely in the forefront of this story, there is also a very prevalent mystery in the plot. My favorite romance novels are those that have a story that can stand alone even if you removed the romance portion of it, and this one could definitely fill that requirement!

Kind of cute - left a lot of unanswered questions. Will she ever find out if she is truly related to Marshfield, what's the relationship status with her sister, . . .? I'd read another one by the same auther.
Rather predictable, but cute read

The story was cute and it was a light read. It certainly didn't flow, seemed rather forced and was pretty predictable with some typos that drive me crazy. But I still liked the story and characters.
this was cute. cute in the way that is you just edited out a handful of explicit words my grandma would love it. which made it not my cup of tea. for such a yummy cover this book was all around tame.
