Lyrical counting book that counts down from 10. Sensitive kids may get upset about the hermit crabs getting trapped and eaten etc! The last hermit crab meets up with more crabs at the end but still...
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

O.k. I think this disappearing hermit crabs are just going to scare the little ones. Especially one meeting a shark? Warning to those sensitive kiddos parents! Pre-read if you think your "delicate" child can handle the shrinking hermit crab population. At least the pictures were colorful :)

I wasn't liking this book very much until the very end, then it managed to redeem itself a bit.
The text in rhyme wasn't always effective or easy to read. The illustrations were bright and interesting, though.

A nice ocean counting book with very colorful illustrations. Most certainly will introduce those more familiar with fresh water to the creatures in the ocean. Repetitive phrases are fun for the young listener to say and repeat.

While I love the illustrations, this has all the makings of a very depressing picture book. Don't despair--it does have a happy ending.

I liked this counting book, and the illustrations were really bright and fun. Just not a great read aloud for my blog.
Definitely has a spot on the counting books display though!
