A devotion-a-day to pray for someone in particular or the deceased in general. This seems like it would be an excellent book for someone in the immediate aftermath of losing a loved one. After all the Israelites mourned Aaron and Moses for thirty days.

First time I read this in one day. This time I tried to use it as a daily devotional, not always successfully. Still it only takes a few minutes to pray the prayers and helps to keep you focused on the Holy Souls in Purgatory, something easy to forget during these lazy summer days and months. Having this—and other books like this—laying around to remind me to pray for the deceased is a huge help. It is full of tips for ways to pray, quotes by the saints, and many short little prayers.

Need to keep getting this out ... every so often!

I got this book as a gift when it first came out, and have been praying with it for the souls of our faithful departed. I think this the best devotional to pray for the Holy Souls. I have had beautiful experiences as I pray for the faithful departed. I thank our Daughter Gloria for this valuable gift.

Beautiful short reflections which can be used any time of the year. I used these prayers for the month of November- which is traditionally dedicated to the poor souls in purgatory. Highly recommended!

I only wish this book was longer. The more I read about the holy souls in purgatory, the more we need to help them. This book, as well as others by this author, helps us to pray for the souls and reminds us of other things to do like offering masses.

A great little book especially for those new to the devotion to the Holy Souls. I read it as a November devotional but can be used any month of the year. Liked the stories and deep insights.

I've been reading/praying this through every year in November since 2015 when I met the author at a book signing. I find something new in it each year.

Reading again for 2018...

2022-2025…. I go through these prayers every year in October, in the lead-up to the month of the Holy Souls. I visit cemeteries in my area, sprinkle graves with Holy Water and Blessed Salt, etc. During November, I recite the Stations of the Cross for the Holy Souls….
