Diane Stanley is an American children's author and illustrator, a former medical illustrator, and a former art director for the publisher G.P. Putnam's Sons. Born in 1943 in Abilene, Texas, she was educated at Trinity University (in San Antonio, TX) and at Johns Hopkins University. Although not strictly a "Christmas" book, the kitten of the title arrives at Christmas. It's just a cute - very short - story about the stages of a cat's life and how sometimes he's needed to be Captain Whiz-Bang and sometimes he just needs to cuddle. (December 11, 2011)
