I def didn't see the ending coming & loved it! There is a ton of derogatory language toward AA people (which I'm sure may be normal for that time period, but still). I liked the passion Mr. Marshall had for doing what's right when literally everyone is trying to cover up for one another

A nice read. There was no question about who dunnit, it was all about if anyone would take notice and how it would be resolved. There were no action-movie style scenes in the book, just your basic folk doing their basic thing. You knew it would have a happyish ending. How that happened was a bit of a jolt.

This author wrote another book called Autopsy and these are two of the best books. They were written by a Medical Examiner from the Tampa Bay area. They focused on Medical Examiner's duties within the criminal justice system. I would highly recommend finding a copy and enjoying this rare find.
