They seem to grow them a bit different down there in Texas ... or at least that is what these romance books have lead me to believe. I think I will go down there on my next vacation and try to find me-self one of those Hardy Cates or any one of those Travis boys if a Cates isn't available....I digress...

This book was good enough. I have no complaints. Sure there was very little depth but it is apart of the Harlequin Blaze series so that is to be expected. There was a little less Texan-ness than

3.5 actually.

Ok. Am ready to leave the contemporary wild west. So our h, only girl in a houseful of boys, and with a dad who apparently couldn't be bothered to tell his boys to knock it off when they harassed her, hasn't a feminine bone in her body, mostly because it was teased and harassed out of her. She had the memory of spending a summer? Month? Something. with her grandma who got her to wear a dress. She came home and her brothers made fun of her.

She's almost 30 now, recently broke up with

I didn't realize this was an unrequited love story otherwise I may not have considered it. They were friends but the hero broke the heroine's heart when they were kids. While most women are happy with the "he finally loves her" thing I'm more of the philosophy to make him suffer by making him experiences his own heart being broken then, maybe consider taking him up on his offer. Obviously, Kim agrees because that is what happens. The heroine is not quite as brutal as Kim and I and her actions ar ...more

I read an excerpt of this online about a year ago and kept searching for it until I finally found a copy a few months ago. It was worth the wait. The by-play between the characters was humorous and hot. It was a fun read where the girl who had been doing the chasing all her life got a chance to turn the tables and be chased a little. Kimberly Raye did a great job showing a wide range of thoughts and self-understanding about the hero as he faces the change in the relationship dynamic between hims ...more

This was my first harlequin novel, I read it for book club. What I expected was cheesy dialogue, a sub-par plot and for the author to use words like "quivering member" as well as metaphors to describe the physical situtaions that the characters experienced.
Well, I was right about the dialogue and the plot, but suprised at how descriptive the sex parts were. This was literary porn to the fullest! I have to say I could not put the book down and read it in two days.

This was a fairly good book. Not as action packed as others i have read, but still readable. It wasn't one that kept me dying to know how it ended. Was slow in some parts and for a romance book, its not what i am use to.

3.5 stars -- really enjoyed some of the glimpses into the friendship between Rance and Deanie from childhood (a la jawbreakers), but otherwise didn't end up feeling too close to the characters. So good sexy fun, but just not quite enough depth to the romance...close, but something was missing.

Raye writes hot, steamy, smile-so-hard-your-face-hurts romance. The fact that she sets her stories in Texas and puts her guys in a cowboy hat is a bonus. Definite fav author.

I've always been an incurable romantic. While I enjoy reading all types of fiction, my favorites, the books that touch my soul, are romance novels. From sexy to thrilling, sweet to humorous, I like them all. But what I really love is writing romance--the hotter the better!

I started my first novel back in high school and have been writing ever since. To date, I've published over thirty novels, one
