I was at the library the other day and I had this sitting on the table in front of me while I watched my daughter play. A woman about my age walked by, looked at the book, and asked me if I was reading it. When I answered that yes, I was reading it, she expressed her condolences to me and walked away. That's a strange thing to have happen. This women was my age, seemingly intelligent and was in a library which leads me to believe she likes to read. I kind of figured she felt like I feel, like T. Styles is out for any dollar she can get from anyone and not concerned at all with writing a good book. Or, an okay book even. Or, well, a book that has correct sentences in it for that matter. Now, I'm on page 11. I may not be able to finish this. I'll say that right off the bat. It's horrible. Styles took a fantastic series with fantastic characters and shot it dead. And I hate her for it. Personally, I have to wonder if she's even literate. How she wrote the sentences in this book I'll never know. Sure, there are *some* that are correct. *Some* sound okay. A *few* may even sound good. But my God. The rest is a hot mess. Allow me. (And please, remember I'm on page 11.)
Pg. 3: "Her short spiky hair was flyer than usual because she loved all eyes on her."
To that I say, it's not fair. It's not fair that her hair does these things because of a way she's feeling. My hair doesn't do shit. It hangs there. Why can't my hair get more shiny when I feel this way? Or more glowing when I feel that way? It's not right.
Pg. 4 (This is chuckle-inducing and really makes me question Styles' intelligence because this, my friends, is no "mistake".): "They were rich, evil and horny...three dangerous combinations."
Actually, T., allow me to explain "combination" to you. A "combination" is, by definition, the act of combining. So, you see, your "sentence" here, MAKES NO SENSE. There is ONE combination here. NOT THREE. MY SIX-YEAR-OLD COULD TELL YOU THAT. Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Pg. 9: "Threatened another."
That's a sentence. According to Styles, this is a sentence. What the hell it's supposed to mean only God knows. (Good old "Advanced Editorial Services" didn't catch it I guess.)
I just decided I'm not reading any further. Styles already lost my money, she gets no more of my times. I've come to the conclusion that she's barely literate. How she got this far I'll never know but her fall from grace will be swift. I'll be happy to see it happen. Call me a hater all day long - I don't like liars. Don't sell a book and put all the bullshit about how great it is out there if it's shit. The sad thing is this, it's not just an opinion I'm stating. This is factual. This. Book. Is. Shit. It makes no sense. The editing is atrocious. It's fallen off in unimaginable ways. Shall I go on? Styles knows that there is only a very small percentage of readers out there who will give her a chance these days so what does she do? She gets a pen name! She fakes an editorial service. (This last bit I don't know for a fact but I strongly suspect it.) I'm done. And I'll be quick to tell others why I'm done. I'm 100% positive that "The Cartel Publications" won't last long. I, for one, hope it falls sooner than later because just thinking about how horrible these books are makes me sick. If I was her mama I'd smack the shit out of her for making herself look so stupid.
It seems like the longer this series goes on, the worse it gets, I swear. I was so hooked into it at the beginning but now I just keep get uninterested. This one seemed way far fetched, but it was still fun to read. I really don't get how it managed to get 5 parts to this series, but either way you bet I'm still going to read it!
I’m in between how I feel about this one. There are many side stories that should have came out earlier. There are characters that still have a story to be told.
Again I would give this book 1.5 stars. There really was not much excitement in this book. I felt that this book could have jus been a chapter or two in another book. There was alot of talking going on between the characters but no issues were resolved, in fact more issues were created with the kidnap of Yvonna's daughter, Bilal Jr who is now in the picture as a teenager, and the deaths of Penny & Gabriella. This book was a mess. It was all over the place & did not tie up loose ends. Even if there is the promise of a book 5, this book could hv been a little more consistent on character development. I'm ready to jus find out who is responsible for what & if people are really who they say they are in these books.

I waited a long time for book number 4. I have very mixed feelings after reading this one. I knew halfway in that it wasn't going to be like 1, 2, & 3. It held my attention and in some parts left me confused. I thought people were dead that were alive and there were children I had forgotten about from previous reads. This was good but not great. I am hoping part five will revive that "sick wit it flava" that I had grown accustomed to that only Ms. Reign can deliver.
Note: After more reflection, reading this felt like it was swapped with fluff to stretch out another book. This book could've been a long chapter of info, totally unnecessary.
WOW!!! I can't wait for book 5, I really hope they find Delilah she was very smart and a big help to her yvonna's freedom! I mean the book really got me speechless! I wonder what Bilal and his brothers are up too! The whole time Delilah been saying she saw the scary lines it's been because of her dad! He's been around her all that time! WOW!!! like I said so much dramma happened in this book I can't wait to see what happens next!
WITH THIS INSTALLMENT SHYT LIST IV I THOUGHT THAT THE PREMISE AS WELL AS THE RELOCATION TO VEGAS FOR A SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT PRESENTED ITSELF & THE STORYLINE AS MORE INTERESTING THAN IT WOULD BECOME. THEN....AT SOME POINT.... IT....APPEARED...TO..........HAVE....LOST........SOME STEAM THAT FUELD IT.....AS WELL AS......ITS WAY. MAYBE AT SOME POINT WHEN I'M IN NEED TO RE-READ SOMETHING I'LL GIVE THIS ONE ANOTHER TRY.
I guess I grew bored with book 4, even though T Styles still gave a compelling story, I wasn't interested or too intrigued with the way the story itself shifted. I was glad to get some answers to questions surrounding Swoopes, Penny, Ming and Bricks. Aside from that I made myself continue this to the end. I won't deny I am intrigued with how they ended it, but not enough to want to read how that plays out.
Not as good as the first 3 parts..I’m a little disappointed.
*Spoiler*
Since they revealed that Gabriella is actually a real person, the story seems less interesting. It was much more interesting when she was completely in Yvonna’s mind. Her disease and its effects is what kept me reading. She doesnt have many crazy episodes in this book and it was a bummer.
I was waiting for the madness to unfold and the secrets to spill out. I can see I’m gonna have to keep my eyes peeled so I don’t miss anything. It’s crazy yvonna is joining forces with her enemy but I think it’s for the best to finally stop the child molestation ring
In this book Yvonna's daughter and Ming's son have grown. They are funny; even with the killing going on. Uncle Yao has put Yvonna on his roster of assassins but what until you hear the ultimatum he gives her. All of the action goes down in Vegas for fight weekend. Read to find out what the action is! I'm on to the final book to see how Reign brings this to a close.
I really can’t wait to see how Yvonna’s story is going to end. She is trying so hard to change her life and people just will not let her be. Moving on to part 5 for more of this crazy ride.
This has been the funniest book of the series (so far). I bust out laughing every time I think about the jump off between Yvonna and Ming at the hotel desk. ROFL. Too funny! Too funny!
Let me start off by saying Yvonna Harris is back! It's been 5 years since the events of part 3 and she once again finds herself dodging trouble while creating chaos of her own. Fans of the series will enjoy the suspenseful moments, the return of previous characters and of course a few laughs along the way. don't sleep on this amazing series. can't wait for part 5, the final part to release! 5 stars!
Not as good as the others. But still worst the read for sure! It kind of reads like a dream - it pops in and out of scene and sitautions. Which makes it a little confusing. I'm also not undersdtanding why she let the one guy live. that makes absolutely no sense when she usually never leave witnesses. All the unprotected sexing she did with different men in such a short (3 days) period, leaves me to believes that she just may end up with child in book 5. anyway to book 5 I go!
I could not wait to get my hands on this book!!! I am definitely loving Yvonna crazy self, and I was not disappointed, however it seemed a little on the short side...but part 5 made up for that!! Anyways, as usual Yvonna can not stay out of trouble for because of that Gabrielle..and of course Ming is there wanting in on the trouble and of course some action in the bed LOL!!
Reign is the truth. I don't know what took me so long to read this series but I can't get enough of it. Yvonna is a crazy beast. You just don't know who to trust in this book but the bond between her and Bricks is so beautiful to watch. If you haven't read these get on it. I would highly recommend this book.
