This book is a mine of ideas for using our favourite soldiers in your Dr Who game.

It's well put together, giving a decent outline of UNIT's history, how they work and most importantly; it shows GM's how to put together adventures that capture the flavour of the UNIT campaigns be it in the 70's or modern day. Included in this is a simple, yet effective system for mass combat.

By the end of reading this, I was full of inspiration, sparking off tons of cool ideas for adventures.

Even if this doesn't happen to you, there are handful of decent adventures at the back, and even a mission generator!

The only downside is a minor one in my opionion. It sort of borrows the mass combat system from Legend of the Five Rings. In that system, players have heroic opportunities to sway the battle depending on where they are (up front, in reserve etc.) In the UNIT sourcebook, it's recommended that there are heroic opportunities, but there's not much in the way of tying the results into the battle. You could do this yourself, of course, but still, I'd have thought they would have made that aspect a little bit crunchier to regulate the gameplay.

Overall, a brilliant book and one I'd recommend most highly to GM's and players of Dr Who RPG.
